Orion (Russian UCAV)
The Kronshtadt Orion is a family of Russian unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) developed by Kronstadt Group. There are several variants of the drone, both for Russia's domestic and export market. Development Kronstadt began the development of Orion in 2011 as part of the Russian MoD-funded Inokhodets programme. In 2013-2015, the company revealed the first layout of the Orion. In May 2016, RIA Novosti reported that test flights of the drone had begun. On 24 August 2021, it was reported that the Russian MoD and Kronshtadt signed a deal for the procurement of 5 combat groups of an upgraded version of Orion, Inokhodets-RU (also known as Sirius). Each group will have several drones; delivery is scheduled for 2023. The large-scale Russian-Belarusian exercise Zapad in September 2021 included Orion drones. An unmanned surveillance and reconnaissance aerial vehicle, is an unarmed military unmanned aerial vehicle, UAV that is used for intelligence, surveillance, target acquisition, and reconnaissance (ISTAR). Atmospheric satellite (United States usage, abbreviated atmosat) or pseudo-satellite (British usage) is a marketing term for an aircraft that operates in the atmosphere at high altitudes for extended periods of time, in order to provide services conventionally provided by an artificial satellite orbiting in space. Atmospheric satellites remain aloft through atmospheric lift, either aerostatic/buoyancy (e.g., balloons) or aerodynamic (e.g., airplanes). By contrast, conventional satellites in Earth orbit operate in the vacuum of space and remain in flight through centrifugal force derived from their orbital speed. Sukhoi S-70 Okhotnik-B
The Sukhoi S-70 ''Okhotnik-B'' (russian: Сухой С-70 "Охотник", , Hunter), also referred to as ''Hunter-B'', is a Russian stealth heavy unmanned combat aerial vehicle (UCAV) being developed by Sukhoi and Russian Aircraft Corporation MiG as a sixth-generation aircraft project. The drone is based on the earlier Mikoyan Skat, designed by MiG, and encompassing some technologies of the fifth-generation Sukhoi Su-57 fighter jet. In the future, it is planned to act under the control of pilots of Su-57 jets, similarly to the USAF Skyborg programme. Luch Korsar
The Luch Korsar (russian: Корсар, en, label=, 'Corsair') is a medium-weight Russian unmanned aerial vehicle developed by OKB Luch, member of Ruselectronics owned by Rostec, to perform reconnaissance, strike and electronic attack missions on behalf of the Russian Ground Forces and Russian Navy, Navy. The program started in 2009 and the flight testing commenced in 2015. It is considered as an improved analogue of the US-made RQ-7 Shadow UAV. Sokol Altius
The Sokol Altius is a medium-altitude long-endurance Russian unmanned combat aerial vehicle developed by OKB Sokol (formerly known as Simonov Design Bureau) and Tranzas to perform reconnaissance, strike and electronic attack missions on behalf of the Russian Air Force and Navy. The program started in 2011 and thus far 3 prototypes have been built. The Altius is comparable to the striking and reconnaissance capabilities of the US-made MQ-9 Reaper and RQ-4 Global Hawk UAVs. Development The Altius program started in October 2011 after the Russian Ministry of Defense awarded a 3 billion Ruble contract and resulted in three demonstrators.
