District 6 of the Oregon State Senate comprises southwestern Linn County and north-central Lane County. It is currently represented by Democrat Lee Beyer of Springfield. Oregon State Senate
The Oregon State Senate is the upper house of the statewide legislature for the US state of Oregon. Along with the lower chamber Oregon House of Representatives it makes up the Oregon Legislative Assembly. There are 30 members of the state Senate, representing 30 districts across the state, each with a population of 127,700. The state Senate meets in the east wing of the Oregon State Capitol in Salem. Oregon state senators serve four-year terms without term limits. In 2002, the Oregon Supreme Court struck down the decade-old Oregon Ballot Measure 3, that had restricted state senators to two terms (eight years) on procedural grounds. Linn County, Oregon
Linn County is one of the 36 counties in the U.S. state of Oregon. As of the 2020 census, the population was 128,610. The county seat is Albany. The county is named in honor of Lewis F. Linn, a U.S. Senator from Missouri who advocated the American settlement of the Oregon Country. Linn County comprises the Albany, OR Metropolitan Statistical Area, which is included in the Portland-Vancouver- Salem, OR- WA Combined Statistical Area. It is located in the Willamette Valley. Leslee Beyer (born June 4, 1948) is an American Democratic politician from the U.S. state of Oregon. He served in both houses of the Oregon Legislative Assembly for a decade, representing Springfield, until being appointed to the Oregon Public Utility Commission in 2001 by then-governor John Kitzhaber. Springfield is a city in Lane County, Oregon, United States. Located in the Southern Willamette Valley, it is within the Eugene-Springfield Metropolitan Statistical Area.
