Oregon's 15th Senate District
District 15 of the Oregon State Senate comprises central Washington County, including most of Hillsboro as well as Forest Grove, Cornelius, and North Plains. It is currently represented by Democrat Janeen Sollman of Hillsboro. Election results District boundaries have changed over time, therefore, senators before 2013 may not represent the same constituency as today. Oregon () is a state in the Pacific Northwest region of the Western United States. The Columbia River delineates much of Oregon's northern boundary with Washington, while the Snake River delineates much of its eastern boundary with Idaho. Chuck Riley (politician)
Chuck Riley (born May 31, 1939) is an American politician who served as a member of the Oregon State Senate for the 15th district, which includes Hillsboro, Forest Grove, and Cornelius in western Washington County. He served three terms in the Oregon House of Representatives from 2005 to 2011. Riley was the Democratic nominee for Senate District 15 in 2010, losing to incumbent state senator Bruce Starr. However, Riley prevailed in a rematch against Starr in 2014, winning in the tightest Oregon legislative election of the year. Bruce Starr
Bruce Starr (born January 12, 1969) is an American politician and businessman in Oregon. A Republican, he served two terms in the Oregon House of Representatives before winning election to the Oregon State Senate in 2002. There he joined his father Senator Charles Starr and they became the first father-son team to serve at the same time in Oregon's Senate. Bruce had previously been a member of the Hillsboro City Council, and was re-elected to the Senate in 2006 and 2010, but lost a bid in 2012 to be the Oregon Labor Commissioner. Roger Beyer is a Republican politician from the US state of Oregon, who most recently served in the Oregon State Senate, representing District 9, which includes parts of Clackamas, Linn, and Marion County, Oregon counties. Stu Rasmussen
Stu Rasmussen (September 9, 1948 – November 17, 2021) was an American politician. He became the nation's first openly transgender mayor when he was elected as the mayor of Silverton, Oregon in November 2008. He had previously been elected twice in the 1990s as mayor of this Willamette Valley community, before coming out as transgender. He was also three times a member of the city council. He was assigned male at birth, identified as a man, preferred masculine pronouns, had breast implants, and had a feminine gender expression. He sometimes went by the name Carla Fong. Rasmussen unsuccessfully ran for a seat in the Oregon House of Representatives in 1994 as an independent, and a seat in the Oregon State Senate in 1996 as a Democrat. James Lee Bunn (born December 12, 1956) is an American politician from Oregon. A native of Yamhill County, he served in the Oregon State Senate before election to the United States House of Representatives where he served one term. Oregon State Senate
The Oregon State Senate is the upper house of the statewide legislature for the US state of Oregon. Along with the lower chamber Oregon House of Representatives it makes up the Oregon Legislative Assembly. There are 30 members of the state Senate, representing 30 districts across the state, each with a population of 127,700. The state Senate meets in the east wing of the Oregon State Capitol in Salem. Oregon state senators serve four-year terms without term limits.
