Oregon's 12th Senate District
District 12 of the Oregon State Senate comprises parts of Washington County, Oregon, Washington, Yamhill County, Oregon, Yamhill, Polk County, Oregon, Polk, Marion County, Oregon, Marion, and Benton County, Oregon, Benton counties. It is currently represented by Independent Party of Oregon, Independent Brian Boquist of McMinnville, Oregon, McMinnville. Election results District boundaries have changed over time, therefore, senators before 2013 may not represent the same constituency as today. From 1993 until 2003, the district covered parts Clackamas County, Oregon, Clackamas County, and from 2003 until 2013 it covered a slightly different area in the Willamette Valley. References

Clackamas County, Oregon
Clackamas County is one of the 36 counties in the U.S. state of Oregon. As of the 2020 census, the population was 421,401, making it Oregon's third-most populous county. Its county seat is Oregon City. The county was named after the Native Americans living in the area, the Clackamas people, who are part of the Chinookan peoples. Gary George was a Republican politician from the US state of Oregon. He was a member of the Oregon State Senate from 1997 to 2009, representing District 12. George and his wife Kathy owned a hazelnut farm and processing plant and a christmas tree farm outside Newberg. They have five children including former state senator Larry George (R-OR, 13th). George ran for a seat in the Oregon House of Representatives in 1990, but lost. He first won a seat in the Senate in 1996. Dave McTeague (born November 19, 1952) is an American Democratic politician who served in the Oregon House of Representatives from 1985 until 1995. Early life McTeague was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota in 1952 to Ken, a school music teacher, and Dorine McTeague. He graduated from the University of Oregon in 1978 with a bachelor's degree in political science. Political career McTeague served as a delegate to the 1972 and 1980 Democratic National Conventions, and was State President of the Oregon Young Democrats in 1977. Oregon State Senate
The Oregon State Senate is the upper house of the statewide legislature for the US state of Oregon. Along with the lower chamber Oregon House of Representatives it makes up the Oregon Legislative Assembly. There are 30 members of the state Senate, representing 30 districts across the state, each with a population of 127,700. The state Senate meets in the east wing of the Oregon State Capitol in Salem. Oregon state senators serve four-year terms without term limits. Brian James Boquist (born October 20, 1958) is an Independent, formerly Republican, politician from Oregon; he currently serves in the Oregon Senate representing District 12.
