Grigoriy Ordzhonikidze
Sergo Konstantinovich Ordzhonikidze,, ; russian: Серго Константинович Орджоникидзе, Sergo Konstantinovich Ordzhonikidze) born Grigol Konstantines dze Orjonikidze, russian: Григорий Константинович Орджоникидзе (18 February 1937), was a Georgian Bolshevik and Soviet politician. Born and raised in Georgia, Ordzhonikidze joined the Bolsheviks at an early age and quickly rose within the ranks to become an important figure within the group. Arrested and imprisoned several times by the Russian police, he was in Siberian exile when the February Revolution began in 1917. Returning from exile, Ordzhonikidze took part in the October Revolution that brought the Bolsheviks to power. During the subsequent Civil War he played an active role as the leading Bolshevik in the Caucasus, overseeing the invasions of Azerbaijan, Armenia, and Georgia. Sergei Alexandrovich Ordzhonikidze (russian: Серге́й Александрович Орджоникидзе; born 14 March 1946 in Moscow) is a Russian diplomat. He was the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Geneva from 2002 to 2011. Early life and education He was born in Moscow in early 1946. His mother, Eteri (1923-2010), was the adopted daughter of Georgian-Soviet revolutionary Sergo Ordzhonikidze. His father was Alexander Sergeevich Piradov, a Soviet ambassador from Tbilisi. Ordzhonikidze finished his study in the Moscow State Institute of International Relations in 1969 and completed his postgraduate studies in International Law at the Diplomatic Academy of Moscow in 1978. He is fluent in English and Spanish, and knows how to speak French. Mindora Orjonikidze
Minadora Orjonikidze ( ka, მინადორა ორჯონიკიძე; 14 March 1879 — 19 October 1967) was a Georgian politician, active in the Democratic Republic of Georgia and its Constituent Assembly. Trained as a physician at the University of Geneva, Orjonikidze became familiar with Marxism while there, and married Malakia Toroshelidze, a fellow Georgian Marxist while studying there. On their return to Georgia Orjonikidze became an active member of the revolutionary movement, though with the 1905 split between Bolsheviks and Mensheviks she follow the majority of Georgians and became a Menshevik. When the Georgian Democratic Republic declared independence on 26 May 1918 Orjonikidze was one of five women who signed the declaration, and was elected to the Constituent Assembly. Iza Orjonikidze
Iza Orjonikidze ( ka, იზა ორჯონიკიძე) (21 November 1938 – 9 February 2010) was a Georgian poet and literary scholar who was also member of the Parliament of Georgia from 1992 to 1995. Born in Tbilisi, the capital of then-Soviet Georgia, Orjonikidze graduated from the Moscow State University with a degree in philology in 1965. In 1976, she was appointed the director of Leonidze Museum of Georgian Literature, a position she held until 1982 and again from 1989 to 1990 and from 1991 to 2010. In 1989, Orjonikidze was a member of the special commission investigating the actions of the Soviet military against the pro-independence demonstrations in Georgia on 9 April 1989.
