Orders, decorations, and medals of Mongolia are governed by the laws of Mongolia on awards. History Early awards Titles in Mongolia have a history dating back to the time of the Mongol Empire. For example, the title of Baatar (“Hero”) was traditionally awarded to military leaders. At the beginning of the 20th century, Russia played a key role in establishing Mongolia's independence from China. To honour this contribution, the Order of the Vajra (translated as the “Order of the Precious Rod”) was created for Mongolian nobility and foreigners, the latter were almost exclusively Russians. The order was abolished after the Mongolian Revolution of 1921. Order Of Sukhbaatar
The Order of Sukhbaatar (or Order of Suche Bator) is a state decoration of Mongolia, originally instituted on 16 May 1941. It was awarded to Mongolians and foreigners "for special services to defenses, economic and cultural construction of the Mongolian People's Republic, and also for acts of heroism in the struggle against external and internal enemies". It was named after the Mongolian national hero, Damdin Sükhbaatar. It is still conferred today and has been the highest state order since 1992, awarded by the decree of the President of Mongolia. Dashdorjiin Natsagdorj
Borjgin Dashdorjiin Natsagdorj ( mn, Боржгин Дашдоржийн Нацагдорж; 17 November 1906 - 13 June 1937), was a Mongolian poet, writer, and playwright, and founder of the Mongolian Writer's Union. He is considered one of the founding fathers of modern Mongolian literature and Mongolia's first "classic Socialist" writer. Also, he was master of the short essay. Life Natsagdorj was born at a site of the lake Gün Galuutai in Darkhan Chin Wang khoshuu (what is now Bayandelger sum of Tov Province to the impoverished family of an untitled noble (''hohi taiji''). The title of Hero of Labour of Mongolia ( mn, Монгол улсын хөдөлмөрийн баатар), formerly known as the Hero of Labour of the Mongolian People's Republic, was a state decoration of the Mongolian People's Republic and is an award of Mongolia. It was modeled on the Soviet Union's highest award, the Hero of the Soviet Union title. The Order of the Polar Star ( Mongolian: , Traditional Mongolian: ᠠᠯᠲᠠᠨ ᠭᠠᠳᠠᠰᠤ ᠣᠳᠤᠨ) is a state award of Mongolia. It is the highest civilian award Mongolia can present to a foreign citizen. The order was created in 1936. The regulation was approved by the resolution of the Presidium of the Small Khural and the Council of Ministers of the MPR on May 16, 1941. Description It comes in four types: Type 1 (1936), Type 2 (1940), Type 3 (1940-41), Type 4 (1970). For everyday wear, the order had a symbol in the form of an order bar. Until 1961, the bar of the order was rectangular metal, covered with colored enamel. Since 1961, the enamel strips have been replaced by strips covered with ribbons in the order's colors.
