Order Of Ismail
__NOTOC__ The Royal Order of Ismail (''Nishan al-Ismail'') was an order of chivalry and state honour in the Kingdom of Egypt. History It was established on 14 April 1915 by Sultan Hussein Kamel of Egypt to reward eminent services to the state. The order was named after Ismail Pasha and could be awarded to both Egyptian nationals and foreigners. The coat of arms of Egypt () is known as the Eagle of Saladin, Republican Eagle, National Emblem of Egypt or Egyptian Golden Eagle, is a heraldic golden eagle, facing the viewer's left (Dexter and sinister, dexter). The eagle's breast is charged with an Escutcheon (heraldry), escutcheon bearing the red-white-black bands of the flag of Egypt rotated vertically, whilst the eagle's talons hold a scroll bearing the official name of the state written in Kufic, Kufic script. The earliest version of the Eagle of Saladin was that used as the flag of Saladin, the first Sultan of Egypt, whilst the modern version of the eagle was adopted during the Egyptian Revolution of 1952. Quintin Brand
Air Vice-Marshal Sir Christopher Joseph Quintin Brand, (25 May 1893 – 7 March 1968) was a South African officer of the Royal Air Force. Early life Brand was born in Beaconsfield (now part of Kimberley, Northern Cape) in South Africa to a CID Inspector in the Johannesburg police. He joined the South African Defence Force in 1913. First World War During the years 1914–1915, Brand continued to serve in the Union Defence Force. In 1915, Brand travelled to England, where he transferred to the Royal Flying Corps. He learned to fly and was awarded Royal Aero Club Certificate No 3949 on 30 March 1916. During the First World War, he flew Nieuport 17 scouts, serving in No. 1 Squadron RFC in France as a flight commander before being posted back to England.
