Order Of Timor-Leste
The Order of Timor-Leste ( pt, Ordem de Timor-Leste) is the highest honour currently awarded by East Timor. Established in 2009, the order was created after the original honours granted by East Timor. It is of a more general and broader nature than the original orders related to East Timor's independence. The order recognises the contributions of East Timorese and foreign nationals who have made a significant contribution to East Timor, the Timorese or Mankind in general. Criteria and award procedure The Order of Timor-Leste is awarded to recognise and thank those individuals who have made a significant contribution for the benefit of East Timor, the Timorese, or Mankind. National Republican Guard (Portugal)
The National Republican Guard ( pt, Guarda Nacional Republicana) or GNR is the national gendarmerie force of Portugal. Members of the GNR are military personnel, subject to military law and organisation, unlike the agents of the civilian Polícia de Segurança Pública, Public Security Police (PSP). The GNR is responsible for the preventive police and highway patrol in 94% of Portuguese territory. At national level, GNR also has duties of customs enforcement, coastal control, nature protection, search and rescue operations and state ceremonial guards of honor. Samora Machel
Samora Moisés Machel (29 September 1933 – 19 October 1986) was a Mozambican military commander and political leader. A socialist in the tradition of Marxism–Leninism, he served as the first President of Mozambique from the country's independence in 1975. Machel died in office in 1986 when his presidential aircraft crashed near the Mozambican-South African border. Judith Ryan Fergin (born 1951) was the United States ambassador to East Timor. Her term of appointment began on September 9, 2010, succeeding Hans G. Klemm, and ended in 2013. General Sir Peter John Cosgrove, (born 28 July 1947) is a retired senior Australian Army officer who served as the 26th governor-general of Australia, in office from 2014 to 2019. Max Christopher Wenner, known as Christopher Wenner and later as Max Stahl (6 December 1954 – 28 October 2021), was a British journalist and television presenter. Mohamed Salama Badi (born 1966 in El Aaiun, Western Sahara) is the current Sahrawi ambassador to Timor-Leste. He speaks Hassaniya ( a variety of Arabic), and Spanish. Personal life He was an activist and syndicalist in Moroccan-occupied Western Sahara during his youth. He graduated in Economics at Sétif university, in Algeria. United Nations Integrated Mission In East Timor
The United Nations Integrated Mission in East Timor (UNMIT) was established on 25 August 2006 by UN Security Council Resolution 1704. Its objectives are "to support the Government in consolidating stability, enhancing a culture of democratic governance, and facilitating political dialogue among Timorese stakeholders, in their efforts to bring about a process of national reconciliation and to foster social cohesion".
