Orangeville Northmen Jr. B
The Orangeville Northmen are Junior "B" box lacrosse team from Orangeville, Ontario, Canada. The Northmen play in the OLA Junior B Lacrosse League. History The Junior "B" Northmen were formed in 2001; they are the farm team for the Junior "A" Orangeville Northmen. 2001 - 2015: Since their first season, the Northmen have done quite well, failing to reach the playoffs only once. In the 2006 Playoffs they made the finals. Both the Northmen and their finals opponent, the Oakville Buzz, were founded in 2001. To make the finals, Orangeville beat the Wallaceburg Red Devils 3 games to 0, the St. Catharines Spartans 3 games to 1, and the Niagara Thunderhawks 3 games to 2. The Buzz dispatched the Northmen 3 games to 1 and ended up defeating the Windsor AKO Fratmen in the one-game final for the Founders Cup, 10-4 to win the National Junior "B" title. 2016: The Jr. B Northmen win the J. The Green Gaels are a Junior "B" box lacrosse team based in Clarington, Ontario, Canada, that plays out of the Garnet B. Rickard Recreation Complex in Bowmanville, Ontario, Canada. The Gaels play in the OLA Junior B Lacrosse League. History The early years Founded in 1946 by Jim Bishop, the Green Gaels were a lacrosse team from day one in the OLA Junior A Lacrosse League, playing out of Toronto, Mimico, Huntsville, Oshawa, and currently Bowmanville. In the Gaels first seven seasons in Oshawa, they won the Minto Cup as National Junior "A" Champions. Since the Minto Cup's inception in 1937, no team has ever won more than 4 championship in a row—other than the Gaels. The record setting team were National Champions from 1963 until 1969, a record that has never even been approached since it was set. The WarChiefs play in the First Nations Junior B Lacrosse League (FNJBLL), sanctioned by the First Nations Lacrosse Association (FNLA). Manitoba Blizzard are a Junior B box lacrosse team based in Winnipeg, Manitoba. The Blizzard compete in the Rocky Mountain Lacrosse League. History Formed in 2010 as the Manitoba Gryphons, the team was the first Manitoba-based team to join the Rocky Mountain Lacrosse League. The Windsor Clippers is a Canadian junior box lacrosse team and members of the Ontario Junior B Lacrosse League of the Ontario Lacrosse Association. The team, from Windsor, Ontario, Windsor, Ontario, Canada, was known as the Windsor AKO Fratmen from 2003 until 2009 as they were sponsored by the AKO Fraternity.
