County Park
A park is an area of natural, semi-natural or planted space set aside for human enjoyment and recreation or for the protection of wildlife or natural habitats. Urban parks are green spaces set aside for recreation inside towns and cities. National parks and country parks are green spaces used for recreation in the countryside. State parks and provincial parks are administered by sub-national government states and agencies. Little Econ Greenway
The Little Econ Greenway is a multiuse trail in Orange County, Florida, United States, maintained by Orange County Parks and Recreation. The Little Econ Greenway runs 7.5 miles from Forsyth Road to Alafaya Trail. From the east, the trail follows Lokanotosa Road before turning off behind University High School. The first road crossing from the east is Rouse Road which jogs to the north. The trail follows the Little Econlockhatchee River, past Blanchard Park, and under two underpasses (at Dean Road and at Econlockhatchee Trail). Two road crossing are at Harrell Road and Goldenrod Road as the trail continues to its western terminus at Forsyth Road. A few miles north of this trail, the Cady Way Trail also crosses Forsyth Road, a direct link is planned in the future. West Orange Trail
The West Orange Trail is a long multi-use rail trail owned by Orange County Parks and Recreation in Orange County, Florida, in the United States. The paved trail passes through downtown Oakland, Winter Garden, and Apopka with most of its length built on old railroad alignments. To the west of the West Orange Trail is the South Lake-Lake Minneola Scenic Trail in Lake County which was connected to the trail in 2007. Stations There are four main stations on the West Orange Trail, each providing parking, restroom facilities, bike racks and drinking fountains. All have picnic tables and playground and some with concession stands. Bike and skates rental are available at the Killarney Station. The Chapin Station has a basketball court and tennis courts. Tibet-Butler Preserve
The Tibet-Butler Preserve is a county park located on the shore of Lake Butler, southwest of Orlando, Florida. It is managed by the Orange County Parks and Recreation. History The land for Tibet-Butler Preserve was acquired in 1986 and 1987 using funds from the Land Acquisition Trust Fund and the Water Management Lands Trust Fund. Recreation Tibet-Butler Preserve contains a nature center, 3.6 miles (5.8 km) of trails, a picnic area, a butterfly garden, and a wheelchair-accessible sandbox. The nature center is called the Vera Carter Environmental Center, named after the Orange County Commissioner from 1980 to 1992. Split Oak Forest
Split Oak Forest Wildlife and Environmental Area is an area of wilderness conservation lands southeast of Orlando, Florida. It straddles the border of Orange County and Osceola County and is managed by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, which has been granted a conservation easement over the property by the two counties. The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission's management plan for Split Oak Forest is "is to restore and maintain the habitats critical to the long-term benefit of state and federally listed upland species, particularly the gopher tortoise." A parkway extension project across the southern portion of the forest is proposed to provide vehicular access to an area of new development. Moss Park is a residential neighbourhood located in downtown Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The area known as Moss Park is typically considered to be between Jarvis Street and Parliament Street, south of Dundas Street, an area dominated by public housing projects. Lake Apopka Loop Trail
The Lake Apopka Loop Trail is a trail running along Lake Apopka North Shore, connecting Magnolia Park and the Green Mountain Scenic Overlook and Trailhead. It is managed by the St. Johns River Water Management District. Route The paved trail begins at Magnolia Park and continues along the northern shore of Lake Apopka and through reclaimed wetland to the Green Mountain Scenic Overlook. Four miles from Magnolia Park is a historic pump house, and the hiking trail intersects with the Wildlife Drive. Hikers, cyclists, and cars share the road for just over 1 mile. After another 6.5 miles, the trail meets the North Shore Trailhead.
