Opinion Polling For The 2021 Senedd Election
In the run-up to the 2021 Senedd election, various organisations carried out opinion polling to gauge voting intentions. Results of such polls are displayed in this list. Most of the pollsters listed are members of the British Polling Council (BPC) and abide by its disclosure rules. The date range for these opinion polls was from the 2016 National Assembly for Wales election, held on 5 May 2016, to 6 May 2021 when the election for the newly named Senedd took place and was the first Welsh election which included 16 and 17-year-olds in the electoral franchise. After January 2020 most opinion polls also included this data set to reflect the enfranchisement in the next election. 2021 Senedd Election
1 (one, unit, unity) is a number representing a single or the only entity. 1 is also a numerical digit and represents a single unit of counting or measurement. Paul Davies (politician)
Paul Windsor Davies (born 1969) is a British politician who currently serves as Member of the Senedd (MS) for Preseli Pembrokeshire, a position he has held since 2007 election. He gained the seat from Labour and was re-elected in May 2011, May 2016 and again in May 2021. Davies served as Leader of the Welsh Conservatives and Leader of the Opposition in Wales from 27 June 2018 to 23 January 2021, having previously been Deputy Leader from 2011 to 2018 and Acting Leader in 2011 and 2018. 2018 Plaid Cymru Leadership Election
The 2018 election for the leader of the Welsh political party Plaid Cymru began on 7 August. Voting closed at midnight on 27 September. Adam Price was declared the winner on 28 September, defeating the two other candidates. A prospective leadership election was first announced after Rhun ap Iorwerth, Assembly Member (AM) for Ynys Môn and Adam Price, AM for Carmarthen East and Dinefwr, both declared their intention to challenge the incumbent leader, Leanne Wood. Speculation about a leadership election arose after what were perceived to be disappointing showings in recent elections, which led some figures within the party to comment that Plaid was potentially stagnant. Adam Robert Price (born 23 September 1968) is a Welsh politician serving as the Leader of Plaid Cymru since 2018. , he has sat in the Senedd for Carmarthen East and Dinefwr, having previously been a Member of Parliament (MP) for the Carmarthen East and Dinefwr constituency. Early life and career Price was born in Carmarthen and grew up in Tycroes. His father, Rufus, was a miner at Betws Colliery. 2018 Welsh Labour Party Leadership Election
The 2018 Welsh Labour Party leadership election took place between 9 November and 6 December 2018 to elect a successor to Carwyn Jones as leader of the Welsh Labour Party. Carwyn Jones, who had led Welsh Labour since 2009, announced his intention to resign at the Welsh Labour conference in Llandudno in April 2018. He stated that he would stand down in autumn 2018, and that he would continue to lead the party until then. Mark Drakeford
Mark Drakeford (born 19 September 1954) is a Welsh politician serving as First Minister of Wales and Leader of Welsh Labour since 2018. He previously served in the Welsh Government as Cabinet Secretary for Finance from 2016 to 2018 and Minister for Health and Social Services from 2013 to 2016. 2021 Welsh Conservatives Leadership Election
The 2021 Welsh Conservatives leadership election was triggered on 23 January 2021 by the resignation of Paul Davies as leader of the Welsh Conservatives following a possible breach of COVID-19 regulations. Davies announced his intention to step down from the role with immediate effect after pictures emerged of a group of Senedd members, including Davies, drinking alcohol at the Senedd building during December 2020, shortly after the purchase and public consumption of alcohol had been banned in Wales as one of the COVID restrictions.
