Album details This compilation was released to promote the concert series of the same name held at the Hong Kong Coliseum on April 19, & April 20, 2008. The concerts marked the first time Liew had a solo concert series at the venue and also her first official concert since she went on hiatus back in 1995. This 2-disc set contains 31 songs spanning from the Current Records/BMG Music era in the late 1980s to the Columbia Records era in the mid 1990s to the Taiwan release of the mandopop album ''愛自己 Love Yourself'' in 2000 on Rock Records. Prudence Liew
Prudence Liew Mei-Gwan (born 10 December 1964) is a Hong Kong pop singer and actress. A Golden Horse Award winner and platinum selling singer, she has released 16 studio albums and appeared in numerous films. Career From the age of eight, she began appearing in television commercials after high school. In 1986, while working as a film producer, Liew was approached to sing the theme song for a movie. The song, ''Midnight Love'' was on heavy rotation at major Hong Kong radio stations and she was quickly signed as the flagship artist to Current Records. In December 1986, she released her self-titled début album to rave reviews and high sales. ''Lau Mei Gwan'' (Chinese 劉美君 Prudence Liew) is the self-titled debut album of cantopop singer Prudence Liew, released on December 23, 1986. Album information While working as a film producer, Liew was faced with the task of coming up with a theme song to the movie ''Midnight Beauties (午夜麗人)''. The film company eventually decided to cover a Korean pop ballad called "Dear J" by Lee Sun-hee and have Liew write the Cantonese lyrics as well as perform the vocals on the track. The result was the lead single to the album, titled "Midnight Love 午夜情", about a forbidden love between a hostess club worker and her client.
