The Opel RAK e is an electric two-seat city concept car produced by the German car manufacturer Opel. The RAK e premiered at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show. The name ''RAK e'' recalls the name of the rocket-powered RAK 2 from 1928, which included a canopy door. It was developed and designed in conjunction with ''KISKA,'' who also designed the KTM X-Bow. Opel-RAK were a series of rocket vehicles produced by German automobile manufacturer Fritz von Opel, of the Opel car company, in association with others, including Max Valier, Julius Hatry, and Friedrich Wilhelm Sander. Opel RAK is generally considered the world's first large-scale rocket program, significantly advancing rocket and aviation technology as well as instrumental in popularizing rockets as means of propulsion. The quadricycle is a European Union vehicle category for four-wheeled microcars, which allows these vehicles to be designed to less stringent requirements when compared to regular cars. The KTM X-Bow (pronounced ''crossbow'') is an ultra-light sports car manufactured by Austrian automotive manufacturer KTM. A company known for their production of motorcycles, the X-Bow was their first mass-produced car in their product range and was unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in 2008.
