Oostwold Airport
Oostwold Airport ( nl, Vliegveld Oostwold), also known as Groningen Airport Oostwold, is a small general aviation airport in Oostwold, a village in municipality of Oldambt in the province of Groningen in the Netherlands. The airport is north of the city of Winschoten. The ICAO code EHOW has been assigned to the airfield. It has one runway, 07/25, with a length of 880 meters (2,887) feet. It has a grass surface, with a narrow concrete strip available for the first 600 meters (1,968 feet) in the 25 direction. Except for flights from Schengen countries, no international flights are allowed. Winschoten
Winschoten (; gos, Winschoot) is a city with a population of 18,518 in the municipality of Oldambt in the northeast of the Netherlands. It is the largest city in the region of Oldambt in the province of Groningen which has 38,213 inhabitants. Winschoten received its city rights in 1825. It was a separate municipality until it was merged into Oldambt in 2010. The seat of government of Oldambt is in Winschoten. There are three windmills and several churches in Winschoten. There is a railway station with direct connections to Groningen and Leer (Germany). Winschoten has an important role as a shopping centre for the region of Oldambt. Oostwold, Oldambt
Oostwold is a village in the municipality of Oldambt in the province of Groningen in the Netherlands. The village is home to the Oostwold Airport. The village had a population of 960 people as of 2019. History The village was first mentioned in 1273 as Astawalda, and means "eastern woods". East is relative to Midwolda. Oostwold is a road village which developed on the edge of the former peninsula of Winschoten. 1545 the Dollart dike was constructed to the north of the village. The first church was demolished in 1543. In 1598, a new church was built which was replaced between 1775 and 1776 by the current church.
