"Oops, Oh No!" is a single by French singer Cerrone and American singer La Toya Jackson. It was released in 1986 as a 7" and 12" single. The song was remixed by British producer Simon Harris in 1986 and was the second release on his Music of Life label. Song information Cerrone initially contacted Jackson's management with a song called "Talk to Me", which Jackson declined as it sounded too much like something sister Janet would record. "Talk To Me" was later released by Chico DeBarge. Cerrone offered Jackson “Oops” which she preferred as it was a "funky and danceable" track with a clever title. Marc Cerrone Daryl Easlea, "Supernature Boy", ''Record Collector'', #502, February 2020, pp.60-63 (, ; born 24 May 1952) is a French disco drummer, composer, record producer and creator of concert shows. Cerrone is a producer of 1970s and 1980s disco songs. He has sold over 30 million albums worldwide, including over four million copies in France, and eight million copies of '' Supernature''. The single "Love in C Minor" (1976) reached No. 3 and was in the charts for two months, selling three million copies. Simon Harris (born 28 November 1962) is a DJ, producer, remixer and electronic musician predominantly known as the founder of the hip hop record label Music of Life and producer of most of its catalogue of songs. Originally from London, Harris is a producer of sample-based breakbeat and house music. As a remixer, music label owner, and producer, Harris has worked with Pete Tong, Simon Cowell, James Brown, Prince, Joyce Sims, Fatboy Slim, Paul Oakenfold, Tony! Toni! Toné!, War, Arthur Baker, Boyz II Men, Heatwave, as well as Steve "Silk" Hurley. Originally a DJ, Harris started selling professional audio equipment in London's Tottenham Court Road, then became a club promoter. Music of Life is a British independent hip hop and dance music label formed in 1986 by two influential DJ remixers Froggy and Simon Harris, managed by Chris France. Following several successful productions, one of which reached No. 3 in the UK Singles Chart (the Real Thing's "You to Me Are Everything") Harris and Froggy decided to launch their own label, they were offered a label deal by Morgan Khan (Streetwave) and the first release was a remix by the duo of Cerrone's 'Supernature' (his 'Music of Life' song was the inspiration for the label name). Within a few months Froggy left the label and Streetwave went out of business. Harris being active in remixing and production for many other artists and labels financed the label with his remix income.
