	Onyx Cave (Arizona) Onyx Cave is a solutional cave system with about of passages formed in Permian limestone in the Santa Rita Mountains of Arizona. It is part of the Coronado National Forest. Vandals broke the formations and used paint on many walls to the point that the entrance was gated in 1962 in order to preserve it. 	Onyx Cave (Arkansas) Onyx Cave is a small show cave located about east of Eureka Springs, Arkansas. It has been a tourist attraction since 1893, making it the oldest show cave in Arkansas. The cave does not contain onyx, but rather flowstone, also known as "cave onyx". During the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century many such caves were named similarly. Visitors are guided through the cave by audio head sets which inform them about chambers and rock formations. Since the cave has only one public opening, visitors exit the cave the way they entered. The cave stays at an average temperature of year round. In 1969, some scenes from the B-movie ''It's Alive! (1969 film), 'It's Alive''' were filmed at Onyx Cave. In October 2017 the cave and surrounding acreage were put for sale for $500,000. picture info	Great Onyx Cave Great Onyx Cave is a cave located in Mammoth Cave National Park in Kentucky, United States. The National Park Service offers a commercial tour of the cave. Discovery Great Onyx Cave was discovered in 1915 by Edmund Turner. According to one story, Turner made a proposition to Flint Ridge landowner L. P. Edwards, knowing through his cave explorations that there was a cave under Edwards' land. Turner asked Edwards if he could have a share in the cave's ownership if he showed Edwards where to dig. Edwards agreed, and the resulting cave was named Great Onyx Cave because of its cave onyx formations. Turner continued to explore the cave while Edwards rushed to commercialize it. Shortly thereafter, when Turner died (probably of pneumonia), Edwards claimed that he discovered the cave. 	Onyx Cave (Newburg, Missouri) Onyx Cave, also known as King Cave and Boiling Springs Cave, is a historic natural cave located near Newburg, Pulaski County, Missouri. The cave consists of the main room measuring approximately 85 feet wide, 250 feet long, and 33 feet high, and two passageways. The cave features translucent cave onyx that is pure white to cream in color, some with reddish-colored banding.
