Khentii ( mn, Хэнтий) is one of the 21 Aimags of Mongolia, aimags (provinces) of Mongolia, located in the east of the country. Its capital is Chinggis City. The aimag is named after the Khentii Mountains. It is best known as the birthplace and likely final resting place of Temüjin, otherwise known as Genghis Khan. Geography The aimag borders with Russia in the north. The neighbouring aimags are Selenge Province, Selenge in the northwest, Töv Province, Töv in the west, Govisümber Province, Govisümber in the southwest, Dornogovi Province, Dornogovi in the south, Sükhbaatar Province, Sükhbaatar in the southeast, and Dornod Province, Dornod in the east. The Borzya (russian: Борзя from Mongolian "Боорж/Boorj") is a river in Zabaykalsky Krai, Russia. The town of Borzya lies along the river. It is a right tributary of the Onon (river), Onon (in Amur's basin). It is long, with a drainage basin of . In 1918, multiple Communism, Communists unsuccessfully attempted to destroy the bridge over the Borzya. However, the plan failed due to weather conditions. Burkhan Khaldun
The Burkhan Khaldun (Cyrillic: Бурхан Халдун) is one of the Khentii Mountains in the Khentii Province of northeastern Mongolia. The mountain or its locality is believed to be the birthplace of Genghis Khan as well as his tomb. It is also the birthplace of one of his most successful generals, Subutai. The mountain is part of the Khan Khentii Strictly Protected Area established in 1992. It had strong religious significance before Genghis Khan made it a powerful landmark and is considered the most sacred mountain in Mongolia since it was designated as sacred by Genghis Khan. It was inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site on 4 July 2015 under the title "Great Burkhan Khaldun Mountain and its surrounding sacred landscape."
