Onni Hiltunen
Onni Alfred Hiltunen (26 November 1895 – 8 June 1971) was a Finnish politician, minister in several cabinets and chairman of the Social Democratic Party. Hiltunen was born in Jyväskylä. He worked as railwayman and was later a shopkeeper. He worked at a social democratic paper in Varkaus 1931–1946. Hiltunen was elected to the parliament for terms between 1930 and 1962 first from Northern and later from Southern Savonia electoral district. Hiltunen was chairman of the Social Democratic Party between 1944 and 1946. Onni Okkonen
Onni Okkonen (20 August 1886 – 18 May 1962) was a Finnish art historian based at the University of Helsinki. Okkonen was born in Korpiselkä in Karelia and earned his Ph.D. in 1914. He was appointed professor of art history at the University of Helsinki in 1927, a position that he held until 1945. His main research interests were Finnish art and Italian Renaissance art. His works include an overview of the history of Finnish art, ''Suomen taiteen historia'' (1945), which was translated into English in 1946, as well as monographies on Wäinö Aaltonen, Juho Rissanen and Akseli Gallen-Kallela. He was also active as an art critic for the newspaper ''Uusi Suomi,'' as well as a fiction writer and painter. He was chairman of the Kalevala Society from 1937 to 1942 and a member of the Academy of Finland from 1948 to 1956. Onni Palaste
Onni Palaste, born Onni Bovellan (27 December 1917 - 1 July 2009) was a Finnish Winter War veteran and writer. Onni Bovellan was born in Kiuruvesi, Finland on 27 December 1917 to parents Joona Bovellan and Olga Miina Kärkkäinen. He was a frail child and was not originally expected to live long. However, he survived and became healthy. After finishing school, Bovellan went to work in a sawmill. In the Winter War, Bovellan fought in Colonel Hjalmar Siilasvuo's troops. He led many successful patrols to Soviet territory and was awarded the Iron Cross. After the Winter War, Onni Bovellan changed his surname to Palaste. He worked as director of the Vuokatti sports academy and also met his wife Kerttu Klemetti. Onni Palaste started writing factual, but slightly dramatised novels about the Winter War in 1967. Wolmar Onni Schildt (3 July 1851 – 23 April 1913) was a Finnish politician. He was a member of the Senate of Finland and an agricultural extension practitioner. Schildt was born in Jyväskylä. His parents were District doctor Wolmar Styrbjörn Schildt-Kilpinen and Mathilda Fredrika Wilhelmina Wadenstjerna. She graduated in 1870 and attended the Alnarp Agricultural College in 1875. Schildt was the head of the dairy and animal husbandry school in Hovila from 1879 to 1903, an inspector of the Mikkeli Provincial Offices 1889–1899, and a Senate Finance Officer, Senator and Head of Agriculture, Mechelin and Hjelt in 1905–1909. Onni Rafael Rajasaari (2 March 1910 in Hanko – 12 November 1994 in Hanko) was a Finnish athlete specializing in long jump and triple jump. He took part in the 1932 Summer Olympics and in the 1936 Summer Olympics, but is best known for becoming European champion in triple jump 1938 in Paris.
