Only God Knows
''Only God Knows'' ( es, Sólo Dios sabe; pt, Só Deus sabe) is a 2006 Mexican-Brazilian drama film directed by Carlos Bolado. It stars Alice Braga as Dolores, a Brazilian woman, who meets Dámian (Diego Luna), a Mexican who helps her to reach Mexico City after her passport is stolen. Co-produced between Brazil and Mexico after an agreement undersigned in Venezuela, it is the first film produced jointly by the two countries. Filming took place in 2004 in Tijuana, Mexico City, Salvador, São Paulo, and San Diego. Post-production was done in São Paulo in 2005 and sound effects were produced in Skywalker Sound. Its world premiere occurred on January 21 at the 2006 Sundance Film Festival, where it competed in the category Cinema Dramatic of the World Cinema section. Carlos Bolado
Carlos Bolado Muñoz (born 1964 in Veracruz, Mexico) is a Mexican filmmaker. He studied cinematography (CUEC) and sociology both in the same university, the National Autonomous University of Mexico. He has worked as a soundman and editor on several films. After making several short films, he ventured into the genre of film features with the film '' Baja California: The Limit of Time''. The debut that brought high praise from both critics and the general public, becoming entitled to seven Ariel Awards, the highest recognition that Film Academy Awards in Mexico. Later on, he co-directed '' Promises'', which was nominated for an Oscar for best documentary. José María Yazpik (born November 13, 1970) is a Mexican actor. Biography Yazpik was born in Mexico City, the son of gynaecologist Jose Maria Meza and housewife Cristina Yazpik. He has two siblings, Carlos and Cristina. When Yazpik was a child, Meza decided to move the family to San Diego, California. He started a practice in Tijuana, which bordered the two countries. The family settled in La Jolla, a wealthy district of San Diego.
