Oniipa Constituency
Oniipa Constituency is an Constituencies of Namibia, electoral constituency in the Oshikoto Region of Namibia. It had 23,913 inhabitants in 2004 and 14,236 registered voters . The constituency office is situated in the settlement of Oniipa. Further settlements in this constituency are Oshigambo, and Onanjokwe. Omukwiyugwemanya is a notable fig tree at Oshigambo High School. Politics Oniipa constituency is traditionally a stronghold of the South West Africa People's Organization (SWAPO) party. In the 2010 Namibian local and regional elections, 2010 regional elections, SWAPO's Johannes Sheepo Shiindi was elected as Oniipa's regional councilor with 95.5% of all votes cast in the constituency. 2020 Namibian Local And Regional Elections
Local and regional elections were held in Namibia on 25 November 2020 to elect new local and regional councils. The previous round of elections was held in 2015 and won by the ruling SWAPO party. Electoral system Elections for regional councils are held using the first-past-the-post electoral system. Voters in each constituency elect one councillor to represent them on their regional council. Each of the 14 regions of Namibia is further subdivided into electoral constituencies. The size of the constituencies varies with the size and population of each region. There are currently 121 constituencies in Namibia. The most populous constituency according to the 2011 census was Rundu Urban in the Kavango West region with 63,431 people; the least populous was Okatyali in the Oshana region with 3,187 people. The administrative division of Namibia is tabled by ''Delimitation Commissions'' and accepted or declined by the National Assembly. Oshigambo High School
Oshigambo High School, also Oshigambo Senior Secondary School, is a school in Oshigambo in the Oshikoto Region of northern Namibia. It is situated approximately 30 km east of Ondangwa. Oshigambo High School is surrounded by some of the special features which make it a tourist attraction. The school buildings sandwich a river which flows from Angola to the Kunene River. On its shores there is the well-known fig tree ''omukwiyugwemanya'', this name is derived from he nature of the tree, the fact that it grew on a rock. Oshigambo High School is one of the oldest schools in the northern part of Namibia. It first came into existence in 1960 and was in good management of its first principal Toivo Tirronen, a Finnish national.
