"One Way Ticket" is a song written by Jack Keller and Hank Hunter. It was originally performed by American singer Neil Sedaka and popularized by British disco band Eruption. "One Way Ticket" is a 1967 song co-written by American composer Stephen J. Lawrence, which became Helen Reddy's first single. The lyrics were written by Bruce Hart. It was introduced by Gloria Loring on her 1968 MGM Records album, ''Today'', produced by Bob Morgan. Loring's original rendition was not, however, released as a single. "One Way Ticket (Because I Can)" or simply "One Way Ticket" is a song written by Judy Rodman and Keith Hinton, and recorded by American country music artist LeAnn Rimes. It was released in September 1996 as the third single from the album ''Blue''. The single made her the fourth teen-aged country music act to score a Number One single on the U.S. ''Billboard'' country music charts. It is also her only Number One country hit to date. According to one of the producers present at the song's recording session, Rimes recorded her vocals in only one take. "One Way Ticket" is the lead single from British rock band the Darkness' second studio album, '' One Way Ticket to Hell... And Back''. It reached number eight on the UK Singles Chart.
