17 Hertz Studio was a recording studio complex in Los Angeles, California originally established in 1972 as One on One Recording. Background Jim David (son of lyricist Hal David) founded One on One Recording in 1972 in the site of a former 1950s department store in North Hollywood. The studio was popular for having the "best drum sound in Los Angeles" and was highly recognized for recording Metallica's 16× platinum self-titled album ''Metallica'', also known as the ''Black Album''. Heart is an American rock band formed in 1967 in Seattle, Washington, as The Army. Two years later they changed their name to Hocus Pocus. The year following they changed their name to White Heart, and eventually changed the name a final time to Heart, in 1973. Extasy Records is a Japanese record label founded in April 1986 by Yoshiki Hayashi, co-founder of the heavy metal band X Japan. The label's first release was X's 1986 single "Orgasm".
