One Love (Carpenters Song)
''Carpenters'' is the third studio album by American music duo Carpenters. Released on May 14, 1971, it was their most successful studio album, reaching number two on the ''Billboard'' 200 chart and number 12 in the UK, as well as being certified 4× Platinum by the RIAA. The album contained the hit songs " For All We Know", "Rainy Days and Mondays" and "Superstar". It has been said that the strength of these recordings is what caused Richard Carpenter to ask his sister to front the band for their live performances instead of playing behind the drums. Amongst many fans, the album has simply been referred to as ''"The Tan Album"'', because the original LP cover, complete with overlapping flap, looked like an oversized tan envelope, and is presumably a play on The Beatles' so-called ''White Album''. In ''Cash Box''s Top 100 Albums of 1971, ''Carpenters'' was listed as one of the year's ten biggest albums. This is the first album to feature the familiar Carpenters logo. All lead v ...

''Secret'' is the eighth studio album by Japanese singer-songwriter Ayumi Hamasaki, released November 29, 2006 by Avex Trax. As with all of her previous works, Hamasaki wrote all of the lyrics on ''Secret''. The album's composition was handled largely by Dai Nagao and Tetsuya Yukumi, both of whom were frequent collaborators with Hamasaki. Generally a rock-pop influenced album, Hamasaki said that the meaning of the album was itself a secret, and that it incorporated secrets she was keeping about herself that the public did not know. Secret had been announced originally as a seven-track EP; however, it eventually evolved into a fourteen-track album. " Startin'/Born to Be..." was released as the lead single from ''Secret'' on March 8, 2006. It debuted at the number-one position in Japan, becoming Hamasaki's twenty-sixth chart topper; with this, she became the female singer with the most number-one singles in Japan, breaking Seiko Matsuda's record. One Love (The Stone Roses Song)
"One Love" is a non-album single by The Stone Roses. The single was released in the UK, U.S., Australia, Brazil, Germany, Japan, Spain, and France, peaking at #4 in the Roses' home country of the UK, their highest charting single up until that time. "One Love" has appeared on the compilation albums '' Turns into Stone'', ''The Complete Stone Roses'' and ''The Very Best of The Stone Roses''. The song was used in an episode of the popular British television series '' Shameless''. In the scene in which the song appears, Frank Gallagher is seen dancing in the pub with his shirt over his head as he is drunk and high on ecstasy. It is believed that John Squire played a Custom Fender Jaguar guitar with a variety of flanging and wahwah effect pedals to create the song's distinctive sound. Ian Brown on "One Love": ''"The chorus wasn't strong enough. We tried for an anthem. We wanted to cover all bases and ended up covering none." Track listing UK release 7" vinyl (Silvertone ORE 1 ...

One Love (The Prodigy Song)
"One Love" is a song by British electronic music act the Prodigy, released on 4 October 1993 by XL Recordings as the first single from the act's second album, ''Music for the Jilted Generation'' (1994). The song peaked at number eight on the UK Singles Chart and number five on the UK Dance Singles Chart. It was also a top 30 hit in Sweden and Switzerland. Inspiration Liam Howlett first released the songs "One Love" and "One Love" (Jonny L Remix) as two 12-inch white labels, called "Earthbound 1" and "Earthbound 2". The version that appeared on the Prodigy's second studio album Music for the Jilted Generation was the shorter edit version due to the band having to trim some running time off the album to allow it to fit on the master CD. Critical reception Ian Gittins from ''Melody Maker'' felt "One Love" "lacks the maverick, individual quality which distinguished tracks like "Everybody in the Place", and I's guess it's unlikely to repeat the Prodigy's normal routine chart succes ...

One Love (Nas Song)
"One Love" is a song by American rapper Nas, released October 25, 1994 on Columbia Records. It was issued as the fifth and final radio single in promotion of his debut studio album ''Illmatic'' (1994). The song was produced by Q-Tip of A Tribe Called Quest, who also contributed vocals for the chorus line. According to Nas, the title of the song originates from Jamaican singer-songwriter and musician Bob Marley's song of the same name. "One Love" is composed as a series of letters written by Nas to his incarcerated friends, describing events that have occurred prior to and after the receivers' imprisonment. "One Love" contains samples of the Heath Brothers' "Smilin' Billy Suite Part II" (1975) and Parliament's "Come in out the Rain" (1970). In the song's first verse, Nas references fellow Queensbridge emcee Cormega, whose rapping career had been put on hold due to his incarceration during the early 1990s. In 2008, VH1 named "One Love" the forty-eighth greatest hip hop song. Ba ...
