One Fine Day (film)
''One Fine Day'' is a 1996 American romantic comedy-drama film directed by Michael Hoffman, starring Michelle Pfeiffer and George Clooney as two single working parents, with Alex D. Linz and Mae Whitman as their children. The title comes from the 1963 song " One Fine Day" by The Chiffons, which is heard in the film. Michelle Pfeiffer served as an executive producer on the film, which was made in association with her company Via Rosa Productions. The film was nominated for an Oscar for Best Original Song (" For the First Time"). Plot Melanie Parker is an architect and divorced mother to her son, Sammy. Michael Hoffman (American Director)
Michael Lynn Hoffman (born November 30, 1956) is an American film director. Early life and education Hoffman was born in Hawaii: the son of Dorothy (Harper) and Glenn R. Hoffman, who was stationed in the navy in Hawaii at the time. He grew up in Payette, Idaho, played basketball, and attended college at Boise State University. There he was elected as student body president of BSU. He was a cofounder of the Idaho Shakespeare Festival (along with Doug Copsey and Victoria Holloway) which is celebrating its 30-year anniversary this year. While at BSU, he served as president of the student body and earned the high honor of Rhodes Scholar in 1979, the first BSU alumnus to achieve this honor. "For the First Time" is a 1996 song performed by Kenny Loggins from the 1996 film '' One Fine Day'' starring Michelle Pfeiffer and George Clooney with music and lyrics by James Newton Howard, Jud J. Friedman, and Allan Dennis Rich and produced by Peter Asher. The song was included in the soundtrack of the film and is Loggins' one and only number one hit on the Adult Contemporary chart, remaining on the top spot for two weeks.
