One Away (film)
''One Away'' is a 1976 American action film directed by Sidney Hayers and starring Patrick Mower, Bradford Dillman, Roberta Durrant and Elke Sommer. The film is written by Allan Prior and is based on his novel of the same name. Sidney Hayers
Sidney Hayers (24 August 1921 – 8 February 2000) was a British film and television director, writer and producer. Born in Edinburgh, Scotland, Hayers began his career as a film editor. Among the films he directed are ''Circus of Horrors'' (1960), the occult thriller ''Night of the Eagle'' (1962), a musical ''Three Hats for Lisa'' (1965), and the adventure films '' The Southern Star'' (1969) and '' The Trap'' (1966). In British TV, his credits included ''The Persuaders!'' and '' The New Avengers''; he later directed several American TV shows, including episodes of ''Magnum, P.I.'', ''The A-Team'', ''Knight Rider'', ''T. J. Hooker'', ''Baywatch'' and ''The Famous Five''. Hayers died of cancer in 2000 in Altea, Spain. His wife was the actress Erika Remberg. Ian Yule (1933 — 3 December 2020) was a British born South African actor and soldier. He had a film career that commenced in the late 1960s and lasted to around the early to mid 2000s. Many of the roles he has played are that of a soldier. Patrick Beattie Mynhardt (12 June 1932 in Bethulie, Free State, South Africa – 25 October 2007 in London, England) was a well-known South African film and theatre actor. He appeared in over 150 stage plays in South Africa and England, 100 local and international films, TV plays and serials as well as an opera. He died in London, where he was performing in his one-man show ''Boy from Bethulie'' at the Jermyn Street Theatre in the West End. Early life The son of Johannes Tobias Mynhardt, a district surgeon and Elizabeth Beattie, an Irish emigrant, Patrick was born in Bethulie in the Free State. He matriculated from De La Salle College in East London. He studied drama at Rhodes University before joining the National Theatre Organisation in 1953 and touring South Africa. Allan Prior (13 January 1922, Newcastle upon Tyne, Northumberland, – 1 June 2006) was an English television scriptwriter and novelist, who wrote over 300 television episodes from the 1950s onwards. He was founder-writer of influential police drama ''Z-Cars'' with Troy Kennedy Martin and wrote five of the first ten episodes and a total of 136 episodes for ''Z-Cars'' and spin-off series '' Softly, Softly''. He also wrote several episodes of the 1970s science-fiction series ''Blake's 7''. Along with producer Gerard Glaister he co-created the BBC drama series ''Howards' Way'' in 1985.
