One-two Combo
In boxing, the "one-two combo" is the name given to the combination consisting of two common punches found in boxing – a jab (thrown with the lead hand) followed by the cross (thrown with the back hand). In boxing parlance, fundamental punches are commonly assigned numbers by trainers and in this case there is the jab (#1) and the cross (#2). Boxers begin practicing the basics starting with offense and generally learn punches starting with the fundamentals - the jab (#1), the cross (#2), then onward to more complex punches such as the lead hook (#3), right uppercut (#4), and left uppercut (#5). As boxers learn the fundamentals they begin to learn how to incorporate these punches together in a variety of combinations. The "one-two combo" is the first combination a boxer will learn from their coach that utilizes different punches, this is because the one-two combo consist of two fundamental punches first learned as a beginner. It is one of the most commonly used combinations in ...

1 + 2 (album)
''1 + 2'' is the debut album by Recoil, released in August 1986. The CD and cassette version were released two years later with Recoil's second release, ''Hydrology''. Wilder had always experimented with his own ideas, but when Daniel Miller heard some demos (recorded on a Portastudio, a 4-track cassette machine) and asked to reproduce them, Recoil became a musical entity. The early recordings show Wilder's position as a pioneer in sampling technology and demonstrated how he could completely change the "Depeche Mode" sound into something new. ''1 + 2'', his first collection of demos, though completed in the early 1980s, was inconspicuously released as a 12" EP the same year as his band Depeche Mode's fifth studio album, ''Black Celebration''.Recoil's official websiteShunt Re-release The CD of ''Hydrology Plus 1 + 2'' was re-released in 2007, again on Mute Records. The track listing and artwork remain the same. Track listing Credits and personnel *Alan Wilder – Pro ...

One-Two-Two
The One-Two-Two was one of the most luxurious and illustrious brothels of Paris in the 1930s and 1940s. The name was taken from the address, 122 Rue de Provence, 8th arrondissement of Paris. The numbers were translated into English to ensure that foreign tourists would be able to find the brothel and as a password for French people. Opened in 1924, the "One-Two-Two" closed its doors in 1946 when the Marthe Richard law prohibited brothels in France. The building is now used for business and law offices. Origins of ''One-Two-Two'' The One-Two-Two was opened in 1924 by Marcel Jamet and his first wife Fernande, who called herself Doriane. She had formerly worked in another brothel in Paris, Le Chabanais. Doriane, through her husband, acquired 122 Rue de Provence. Initially she only employed three women. Originally, the building had three floors and was the former private mansion of Prince Joachim Murat. A fourth floor was added by Marcel Jamet in 1933. It was later increased t ...

Push And Run
Push-and-run, also known as a wall pass, a one-two or a give-and-go, is a tactic and skill often used in association football. It involves quickly laying the ball off to a teammate and running past the marking tackler to collect the return pass. It proved an effective way to move the ball at pace, with players' positions and responsibility being fluid. It was devised and developed by Arthur Rowe, who was the then manager of English football club Tottenham Hotspur from 1949. Implementing this new and unique style, Tottenham ran away with their first league title. In 1951 they won the First Division Championship and became the first side to win Second and First Divisions in successive seasons. Origin The "push and run" style of play was first developed by Arthur Rowe at Tottenham Hotspur. Rowe himself would credit Peter McWilliam, the Spurs manager under whom he served, with teaching him how to play a quick passing style of game from which Rowe then extended into "push and run". Th ...

Volumes 1 & 2 (The Desert Sessions Album)
''Volumes 1 & 2'' is the first full-length album by The Desert Sessions. It features the ten tracks found on the original 10-inch EPs. This album differs from subsequent collaborative Desert Sessions in that it was recorded solely by Josh Homme's band The Acquitted Felons. Track listing Notes *The two "Girl Boy Tom" tracks are actually part of a single song. "Monkey in the Middle" is crammed between the two tracks with a fade out from "Girl Boy Tom" and fade back into "Girl Boy Tom". Thus the title "Monkey in the Middle" is a sort of play on titles, being the monkey in the middle. *"Robotic Lunch" uses a different mix than found on the original EP. Personnel *Josh Homme: vocals, guitar, keyboards, bass, percussion * John McBain: guitar, keyboards * Fred Drake: guitar, drums, keyboards, percussion *Dave Catching: guitar, bass, synthesizer, percussion *Ben Shepherd: bass, guitar *Brant Bjork: drums, bass, percussion *Alfredo Hernández: drums, percussion *Pete Stahl Peter ...

Schweizer SGU 1-2
The Schweizer SGU 1-2 was a United States, amateur-built, single-seat, glider that was designed by Ernest Schweizer and constructed by the Mercury Glider Club between 1930 and 1931.Schweizer, Paul A: ''Wings Like Eagles, The Story of Soaring in the United States'', page 91. Smithsonian Institution Press, 1988. The 1-2 was the second a line of 38 glider designs that the Schweizers created and the first of over 5700 aircraft built by them. Design and development The success of the Schweizer SGP 1-1 as a club glider in the summer of 1930 convinced the Schweizers and the Mercury Glider Club to build an improved glider with better performance for the following year. The 1-2 was flown by the Mercury Glider Club in the summer of 1931. That club later became the Hudson Valley Soaring Club and continued to operate the glider. The HVSC used the 1-2 as a training glider while they used the prototype Schweizer SGU 1-7 for soaring Operational history The club named the 1-2 "The Brick", ...
