Omid Harandi
Omid Harandi ( fa, امید هرندی; born 14 March 1964 in Rasht, Iran) is an Iranian football coach and retired player who recently managed Damash Gilan in Iran Pro League. He was previously assistant coach of Pegah Gilan for six years. Playing career He began his career as a football goalkeeper in 1980 with Naft Gilan. After two years, he joined to Sepidrood Rasht and played for the team for five years, then moved to Esteghlal Rasht and played eleven seasons in the club. He signed a two years contract with Niroye Zamini and retired at the end of his contract. Managerial career He was chosen as Esteghlal Rasht (then Pegah Gilan)'s assistant coach in 2001, one year after his retirement. He started his career with Nasser Hejazi and remained in the coaching staff of next coaches. He resigned in 2008. Rasht
Rasht ( fa, رشت, Rašt ; glk, Rəšt, script=Latn; also romanized as Resht and Rast, and often spelt ''Recht'' in French and older German manuscripts) is the capital city of Gilan Province, Iran. Esteghlal Shahrdari Rasht Football Club () commonly known as Esteghlal Rasht, is a football club, based in Rasht, Gilan, Iran. The club was founded in 1983. First dissolved in 2002, the club was refounded later. The club plays currently in the Gilan Province League. History Establishment The club was known as Esteghlal Gaz Rasht in 1992–93 Iran Football's 2nd Division due to sponsorship. After playing many years in Iran Football's 2nd Division, they were promoted to Azadegan League in 2000. They finished 10th in 2000–01 season. But only one year later they were relegated again. Amir Abedini ( fa, امیر عابدینی; born Hassan Abedini on 13 December 1949) is an Iranian politician, football club chairman, former professional footballer and member of the City Council of Tehran. Political career During 1980s, he held office as governor of three provinces under Government of Mir-Hossein Mousavi (1981–89). Abedini is a self-described " Mousavilikeleft-winger" politician. Nasser Hejazi (Persian: ناصر حجازی ''nāser hejāzi''; 14 December 1949 – 23 May 2011), nicknamed "the legendary Iranian goalkeeper", was an Iranian football player and coach who most notably played for Esteghlal (Taj). Considered as the best goalkeeper in the history of Iranian football and Asia, he was capped 62 times for the Iran national football team. In 2000, the Asian Football Confederation ranked him the second best Asian goalkeeper of the 20th century. He was goalkeeper of Iran national team in the 1960s and 1970s and won the AFC Asian Cup on two occasions in 1972 and 1976, and Asian Games title once, and competed in the 1972 Munich Olympics and 1976 Montreal Olympics and 1978 FIFA World Cup. Pegah Gilan
Pegah Gilan Football Club ( fa, باشگاه فوتبال پگاه گیلان) was an Iranian football club based in Rasht, Iran that participated in the Iran Pro League and Azadegan League from 2002 to 2008. Club history The club began its life with the name, Esteghlal Rasht. They spent a number of seasons in the lower leagues of Iranian football but made it back to the top level, finishing 10th in the 2000–01 season. The next season proved to be disastrous for the team, they were managed by Nasser Hejazi, but finished 13th in the standings. They were relegated and embarrassingly lost 9–2 to Aboomoslem on the last match day of the season. The following season ''Pegah Dairy Co.'' bought the team, making it one of the few privately owned football clubs in Iran.
