Omar Aquino
Omar Aquino (born June 24, 1987) is an American politician serving as a member of the Illinois Senate, representing the 2nd district. A Democratic Party (United States), Democrat, he was elected in the March 2016 Democratic primary and appointed to the seat effective July 1, 2016, following the retirement of William Delgado. Sworn into office at age 29, he is the youngest-ever Latino member of the Illinois State Senate and one of the youngest state senators in Illinois history. Previously, he served as an aide to Congresswoman Tammy Duckworth. Early life and career Aquino was born and raised on the Northwest Side of Chicago. William Delgado
William "Willie" Delgado (born October 31, 1956) is a former Democratic member of the Illinois Senate, representing the 2nd district from 2006 until June 2016. He was first elected in 2006, replacing Miguel del Valle, who was elected Chicago City Clerk. Previously, Delgado served in the Illinois House of Representatives from 1999–2006 and was replaced by Luis Arroyo. On January 5, 2015, Delgado announced that he would not be seeking re-election to the Illinois Senate. He retired from the seat effective June 30, 2016. Early life Delgado was born in Newark, New Jersey but was raised in Chicago. He graduated from Tilden High School and Northeastern Illinois University, where he earned his bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, with a minor in Sociology. The 2015 Chicago aldermanic elections happened on February 24, 2015, to elect the 50 Aldermen that represent Chicago in the City Council. The elections were non-partisan and if no candidate received an absolute majority, a runoff would be held between the top two finishers on April 7, 2015. Ward boundaries had been redrawn since the previous 2011 election, to reflect the results of the 2010 United States Census. The Illinois General Assembly is the legislature of the U.S. state of Illinois. It has two chambers, the Illinois House of Representatives and the Illinois Senate. Noble Network Of Charter Schools
Noble Schools, (formerly known as the Noble Network of Charter Schools and as Noble Street Charter School) is an open enrollment, public charter network of high schools and middle schools serving students throughout Chicago. Noble was co-founded in 1999 by Michael Milkie and Tonya Hernandez through a partnership between Ron Manderschied, President of Northwestern University Settlement House. Noble's first expansions, Rauner College Prep and Pritzker College Prep, opened in 2006. There are currently 18 schools in the charter school network: 1 middle school and 17 high schools.
