Kamchatka Krai
Kamchatka Krai ( rus, Камча́тский край, r=Kamchatsky kray, p=kɐmˈtɕatskʲɪj kraj) is a federal subject of Russia (a krai), situated in the Russian Far East, and is administratively part of the Far Eastern Federal District. The Olyutor Bay (russian: Олюторский залив) is a gulf or bay of the Bering Sea in Olyutorsky District, northern part of Kamchatka Krai, Russia. Geography It is bounded on the west by the Govena Peninsula which separates it from Korfa Bay and on the east by the Olyutor Peninsula, the southern part of the Olyutor Range. Tilichiki
Tilichiki (russian: Тили́чики) is a rural locality (a '' selo'') and the administrative center of Olyutorsky District of Koryak Okrug of Kamchatka Krai, Russia. It is located on the Korfa Bay of the Kamchatka Peninsula. History Tilichiki was established in 1898, and in 1930 it became the administrative center of the district. In April 2006, it was struck by a series of earthquakes which caused substantial damage. The first quake occurred on April 21 and had a moment magnitude of 7.6. The epicenter was nearly to the northeast at a depth of under mostly unpopulated areas. This was followed by several aftershocks, and on April 29 a further earth tremor with a magnitude of 6.6 was recorded. Alyutors
The Alyutors (russian: Алюторцы; self designation: Алутальу, or Alutal'u) are an ethnic group (formerly classified as a subgroup of Koryaks) who lived on the Kamchatka Peninsula and Chukchi Peninsula of the Russian Far East. Today most of them live in Koryak Okrug of Kamchatka Krai. The name also occurs as Olyutors or Olutors, as well as Olyutorka, a settlement where many of the Alyutor people formerly lived. There is no precise data on the number of Alyutor people, but it is estimated that there are approximately 2,000 to 3,000 of them living in Russia in the present day. Olyutor Range
The Olyutor Range (russian: Олюторский хребет) is a range of mountains in Kamchatka Krai, Russian Far East. Administratively the range is part of Olyutorsky District.Google Earth The range is a mainland prolongation of the submerged Shirshov Ridge of the Bering Sea. Geography The Olyutor Range is a coastal mountain chain, with its eastern flank facing the Bering Sea. It is part of the Koryak Highland system. Despite the relatively small height of the range, its mountains have an alpine character with sharp, pointed ridgetops and steep slopes covered with scree. Deep river gorges and glacial valleys are widespread. The highest point is Greben, a high peak.
