Olympus Arena
The Palace of Sports Olimp (russian: link=no, Дворец спорта «Олимп»), also known as Olimp Palace of Sport, Sports Palace Olimp and Olympus Arena is a sports complex in Krasnodar, Russia. Its 6,000 square metres contains fitness rooms, conference hall, food service areas and a 3,000 seat multi-purpose arena. It is the home venue of volleyball club Dinamo Krasnodar (both men's team and women's team) and handball clubs Kuban Krasnodar and SKIF Krasnodar. It used to be the home venue of basketball club PBC Lokomotiv-Kuban before they move to a larger venue in 2011. Dinamo Krasnodar (''russian: Динамо Краснодар'') is a Russian women's volleyball club based in Krasnodar. It was founded in 1946 and plays in the Russian Women's Volleyball Super League, super league, the top Russian league. History Soviet years Founded in 1946, the club participated in the 1946 Soviet Women's Volleyball Championship (National championship) finishing in 11th place (out of 18 teams). HC Kuban Krasnodar is a Russian women's handball team from Krasnodar competing in the Russian Super League. Kuban enjoyed its golden era in the late 1980s, winning two Cup Winners' Cups in 1987 and 1988 by beating TSC Berlin and Vasas Budapest in the final, and reaching the 1990 European Cup's final, lost to Hypo Niederösterreich, after winning the 1989 Soviet Championship. Kuban also played a third unsuccessful Cup Winners' Cup final in 1989. PBC Lokomotiv Kuban (russian: ПБК «Локомотив Кубань») is a Russian professional basketball team based in Krasnodar. The club participates in the VTB United League. The team is one of the top tier basketball teams in Russia. The team's honour list includes a EuroCup championship in the 2012–13 season, and two Russian Cup victories in 1999-00 and 2017–18.
