Olympic Station
Olympic is a List of MTR stations, station on the of Hong Kong's MTR. The livery is dodger blue. The station was originally named Tai Kok Tsui in proposals outlined by Government of Hong Kong, the government in the Airport Core Programme during the 1990s. In 1996, however, when Lee Lai-shan won the first ever Olympic gold medal of Hong Kong in windsurfing at the Atlanta 1996 Summer Olympics and two Hong Kong sportsmen, Cheung Yiu-cheung and Chiu Chung-lun, also won Gold medals in the Paralympic Games of the same year, the (then-under construction) station was renamed ''Olympic'' on 16 December 1996, paying tribute to those achievements of Hong Kong athletes. The station is decorated with the pictures of the 1996 Summer Olympics and is named after the Olympic Games. Side Platform
A side platform (also known as a marginal platform or a single-face platform) is a platform positioned to the side of one or more railway tracks or guideways at a railway station, tram stop, or transitway. A station having dual side platforms, one for each direction of travel, is the basic design used for double-track railway lines (as opposed to, for instance, the island platform where a single platform lies between the tracks). Side platforms may result in a wider overall footprint for the station compared with an island platform where a single width of platform can be shared by riders using either track. In some stations, the two side platforms are connected by a footbridge running above and over the tracks. While a pair of side platforms is often provided on a dual-track line, a single side platform is usually sufficient for a single-track line. Olympian City
Olympian City () is a shopping and residential complex built on reclaimed land in Tai Kok Tsui, Kowloon, Hong Kong, next to the MTR Olympic station. It is one of the main shopping and residential areas in West Kowloon. The shopping arcades, Olympian City 1, 2 and 3, were developed by Sino Land while the residential buildings were developed by MTR Corporation and Sino Land. Phases There were three phases in the development of the Olympian City project: *Phase I included Island Harbourview, HSBC Centre, Bank of China Centre and Olympian City 1, which were completed from 1998 to 2000. *Phase II included Park Avenue, Central Park and Olympian City 2, which were completed from 2000 to 2002. *Phase III included The Hermitage and Olympian City 3, which were completed in 2011. Island Harbourview
Island Harbourview () is one of the largest private housing estates in Tai Kok Tsui, Yau Tsim Mong District, Kowloon, Hong Kong. It is one of the property projects in MTR Olympic station Phase I. Developed by MTR Corporation, Sino Land, Bank of China (Hong Kong), Kerry Properties, China Overseas Land and Investment and Capitaland Commercial Limited, it comprises nine high-rise buildings, which were completed in 1998 and 1999. The towers are numbered from one to ten, but there is no tower four due to local superstition. Flats in the development range in size from . It is the first estate to be completed in the new Reclamation Area which was part of the 1997 Construction Project. Sham Mong Road () is a major road on the new reclamation of the 1990s in western Kowloon and New Kowloon of Hong Kong. Location The road starts from Cherry Street near HSBC Centre and MTR Olympic station in Tai Kok Tsui, and ends in the former site of incinerator at the junction of Yuet Luen Street and Lai Po Road in Lai Chi Kok. It spans over three areas of Tai Kok Tsui, Sham Shui Po and Cheung Sha Wan. West Kowloon Highway
West Kowloon Highway is a section of Route 3 in Hong Kong, built as part of the Airport Core Programme. This dual-three-lane expressway runs for 4.2 km (), connecting Western Harbour Crossing in the south with Tsing Kwai Highway in the north. While the southern section of the road is at grade, the northern part is on a viaduct in order to accommodate the MTR Tung Chung line and the Airport Express. It is not to be confused with the older West Kowloon Corridor (currently part of Route 5), which is partly parallel to the West Kowloon Highway.
