A.E.P. Olympias Patras B.C. ( gr, Α.Ε.Π. Ολυμπιάς), is a Greek professional basketball club that is located in Patras, Greece. The club is also known as Olimpiada Patron B.C. History The basketball team participated in the Greek A2 League from 1977 until 1981. The club competed in the top Greek League in the 2006–07 season and the 2007–08 season. Olympias Patras' basketball club also participated in the FIBA EuroCup during the 2007–08 season. Arenas Olympias' home arena is the 2,500 seat Olympiada Indoor Hall. Dimitris Tofalos Arena (alternate spelling: Dimitrios Tofalos Arena) is an indoor sports arena that is located in Proastio, Patras, Greece. The arena is named after the great Greek wrestling champion of the early 20th century, and gold medalist at the 1906 Intercalated Games, Dimitrios Tofalos. It is also known by its original official name, which is PEAK, which stands for Pampeloponnisiako Ethniko Athlitiko Kentro Patron (Greek: ΠΕΑΚ Παμπελοποννησιακό Εθνικό Αθλητικό Κέντρο), which means Pampeloponnisiako National Sports Center Patras. The FIBA EuroCup is the former name of an international professional basketball club competition for clubs throughout Europe that was renamed the FIBA EuroChallenge in July 2008. The 2007–08 season, the last for the competition under the EuroCup banner, featured 38 competing teams, from 23 different countries. The draw for the groups was held on August 5, 2007, at the Kempinski Hotel in Munich.
