Olympiada, Chalkidiki
Olympiada ( el, Ολυμπιάδα) is a town in the northeastern part of the peninsula of Chalkidiki, Central Macedonia, Greece, with 649 inhabitants in the 2001 census. It is a municipal district of the same name, within the municipality of Stagira-Akanthos. Main occupation of its residents is tourism and fishing. It is located 35 km from Ierissos and 90 km from Thessaloniki. Approximately 700 meters from it lies the archaeological site of ancient Stagira. The area is declared as a protected zone by the Natura 2000 programme. Name Olympiada took its name from Olympias, a princess of Ancient Epirus and the mother of Alexander the Great. Olympiada ( el, Ολυμπιάδα, ) is a village and a community of the Elassona municipality. Before the 2011 local government reform it was a part of the municipality of Olympos. The 2011 census recorded 465 inhabitants in the village and 591 inhabitants in the community. The community of Olympiada covers an area of 12.904 km2. A.E.P. Olympias Patras (Greek: Α.Ε.Π. Ολυμπιάς Πάτρα) or Olympiadas Patras (Greek: Ολυμπιάδα Πάτρα), is a Greek multi-sport club that is located in Patras. It was founded in 1961. A.E.P. 1022 Olympiada, provisional designation , is a background asteroid from the central regions of the asteroid belt, approximately in diameter. It was discovered at the Simeiz Observatory on the Crimean peninsula on 23 June 1924, by Soviet astronomer Vladimir Albitsky, who named it after his mother, Olimpiada Albitskaya. The X-type asteroid has a short rotation period of 3.83 hours. Orbit and classification ''Olympiada'' is a non-family asteroid from the main belt's background population. It orbits the Sun in the central asteroid belt at a distance of 2.3–3.3 AU once every 4 years and 8 months (1,716 days; semi-major axis of 2.81 AU). Its orbit has an eccentricity of 0.17 and an inclination of 21 ° with respect to the ecliptic. Olympias
Olympias ( grc-gre, Ὀλυμπιάς; c. 375–316 BC) was a Greek princess of the Molossians, and the eldest daughter of king Neoptolemus I of Epirus, the sister of Alexander I of Epirus, the fourth wife of Philip II, the king of Macedonia and the mother of Alexander the Great. She was extremely influential in Alexander's life and was recognized as de facto leader of Macedon during Alexander's conquests. After her son's death, she fought on behalf of Alexander's son Alexander IV, successfully defeating Adea Eurydice. After she was finally defeated by Cassander, his armies refused to execute her, and he finally had to summon family members of those Olympias had previously killed to end her life. Samuel Hazo
Samuel Robert Hazo (born 1966) is an American composer, primarily of music for concert band. Biography Hazo is the son of the poet and playwright Samuel John Hazo and his wife, Mary Anne. After elementary and secondary schooling in the Upper St. Clair School District, he gained a bachelor's degree in music education and a master's in education from Duquesne University. He taught music in the Upper St. Clair School District. Hazo retired from teaching in 2006. He lives in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania with his wife and children. Career Hazo began composing aged 30, and had his first composition published aged 35. In 2001, he received the National Band Association Merrill Jones Award for the best high school wind symphony composition. In 2003, he received the William D.
