Olvios
The Olvios () is a river that flows in western Corinthia in the northern Peloponnese in Greece. The river empties into the Feneos plain, once an area of swamps, now containing farmlands. It is approximately 30 km long. The river begins on the Mavro Oros mountain, south of Evrostina. It flows to the southwest, between the Chelmos (Aroania) and Kyllini mountains. The river empties into the Feneos Fields northwest of the Oligyrtos mountains. One of its tributaries is the Doxa stream, that comes from the Chelmos mountains and flows through the artificial lake Doxa. Aroania (mountain)
Aroania ( el, Αροάνια), also known as Helmos or Chelmos (Χελμός, from South Slavic , "summit"), is a mountain range in Achaea, Peloponnese, Greece. At 2,355 m elevation, Aroania is the third highest mountain of the Peloponnese, after Taygetus and Kyllini, and the highest in Achaea. The largest town near the mountain is Kalavryta. The municipal unit Aroania took its name from the mountain. Geography Aroania is situated in southeastern Achaea, near the border with Corinthia. The slightly higher Kyllini mountain is about 15 km to its east, separated from Aroania by the valley of the river Olvios. The mountain Erymanthos is about 30 km to the west, across the valley of the river Vouraikos. The rivers Krios, Krathis and Vouraikos drain the mountain towards the Gulf of Corinth in the north. Feneos
Feneos (Greek: Φενεός, Latin: ''Pheneus'') is a village and a former municipality in Corinthia, Peloponnese, Greece. Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality Sikyona, of which it is a municipal unit. The municipal unit has an area of 226.201 km2. Its population was 1,342 in 2011. The seat of the municipality was in Goura. The name comes from the ancient city of Pheneus. History In ancient times the area was considered part of Arcadia. Herodotus stated that the river Styx arises near Feneos. Feneos lies at the foot of Mount Cyllene, mythical birthplace of the god Hermes. It therefore served as an important cult centre for the god, notably during the annual festival of the Hermaea. Corinthia
Corinthia ( el, Κορινθία ''Korinthía'') is one of the regional units of Greece. It is part of the region of Peloponnese. It is situated around the city of Corinth, in the north-eastern part of the Peloponnese peninsula. Geography Corinthia borders on Achaea to the west and southwest, the Gulf of Corinth and Attica to the north, the Saronic Gulf to the east, Argolis to the south and Arcadia to the southwest. The Corinth Canal, carrying ship traffic between the Ionian and the Aegean seas, is about east of Corinth, cutting through the Isthmus of Corinth.
