Olle Nordberg (golfer)
Olle Nordberg (born 2 May 1967) is a Swedish professional golfer who played on the Asian Tour and European Tour. Amateur career Nordberg was introduced to golf at an early age by his father, Björn Nordberg, an elite golfer who captained the winning Swedish European Boys' Team Championship teams in 1983 and 1991, and later served as European Golf Association President, Swedish Golf Federation President, and European Tour Board Non-Executive Director. Nordberg grew up in Boden. In 1982, the family moved to Täby where Nordberg attended the Danderyd Golfgymnasium. He had a successful youth career and won the Swedish Junior Championship in 1985 (U-19), 1986 and 1987, and was runner-up at the 1987 British Youths Open Championship following a playoff. He represented Sweden at the 1984 and 1985 European Boys' Team Championships and represented the Continent of Europe at the 1987 EGA Trophy. Boden, Sweden
Boden (, outdatedly ) is a locality and the seat of Boden Municipality in Norrbotten County, Sweden with 16,847 inhabitants in 2018. It is part of the larger area around coastal city Luleå some southeast. After Kiruna, it is the second largest town in Northern Sweden's interior. History The town of Boden started as a railway junction where the Northern Line (''Norra stambanan'', opened 1894) met with the Ore Line (''Malmbanan'') from the rich iron ore fields in northern Sweden. The town experienced increased growth when the Boden Fortress was constructed in the beginning of the 20th century. The purpose of the fortress was to defend Sweden from a possible attack from the east, where Russia was considered the most dangerous threat. The first official writings about Boden, was in a 1500~ tax paper, where the mention of "Boden village" with 7 homes. Boden got the title of city in 1919. Collingtree Park Challenge
The English Challenge is a golf tournament on the Challenge Tour, played in England. History The event was held for the first time in 1993 as the Collingtree Park Challenge and was played as the Stockley Park Challenge in 1994. There was a nine-year break before it made a one-off return in 2004 as the Donnington Grove Computacenter English Challenge Open. The English Challenge returned to the schedule again in 2010 at Stoke by Nayland Hotel, Golf & Spa in Stoke-by-Nayland, Suffolk. Australia's Daniel Gaunt (golfer), Daniel Gaunt won the tournament by one stroke from English amateur Tommy Fleetwood and Scotland's Craig Lee. The event was played Stoke by Nayland again in 2011 and 2012. The event returned again in 2016 at the Heythrop Park Resort in Enstone as the Bridgestone Challenge. Mikael Högberg (born 4 October 1960) is a retired List of Swedish professional golfers, Swedish professional golfer. He won the Swedish Golf Tour Order of Merit in 1990 and joined the European Tour in 1991. Amateur career Högberg finished fourth at the 1982 European Youths' Team Championship and won the 1983 Swedish International Stroke Play Championship. He represented Sweden at the 1984 Eisenhower Trophy and finished 8th together with Carl-Magnus Strömberg and Jesper Parnevik. The Philippine Open was one of the world's longest-running men's golf tournaments. First held in 1913, it is also Asia's oldest golf tournament. The Philippine Masters is a professional golf tournament in the Philippines. First played as the Philippine Masters Invitational in 1976 over the golf course at Nichols Air Base (now Villamor Air Base) in Pasay, to the south of Manila, it was scheduled the week before the first event of the Asia Golf Circuit The Asia Golf Circuit was the principal men's professional golf tour in Southeast Asia from the early 1960s through to the mid-late 1990s. The tour was founded in 1961 as the Far East Circuit. The first series of five tournaments was held in 1962 ... calendar, and as such was considered an unofficial season opener or warm-up event for the tour.
