Olle Ljungström
Lars Olof "Olle" Gustaf Ljungström (12 August 1961 – 4 May 2016) was a Swedish singer, songwriter, and musician. Ljungström grew up in Vaxholm. He was vocalist and guitarist in the group Reeperbahn from 1979 to 1984; since the early 1990s he performed solo. Reeperbahn Ljungström began his musical career as vocalist and guitarist in the Swedish rock group Reeperbahn. The group, which initially also consisted of Dan Sundquist (bass), Eddie Sjöberg (guitar) and Peter Korhonen (drums), made their self-titled debut album in 1979. On their first LP, Reeperbahn used both Swedish and English lyrics, but later on settled for only Swedish songs. The group made three more full-length albums, ''Venuspassagen'' (1981), ''Peep-Show'' (1983) and ''Intriger'' (1983) before splitting up in 1984. Alingsås
Alingsås () is a locality and the seat of Alingsås Municipality in Västra Götaland County, Sweden. It had 24,482 inhabitants in 2010. Geography Geographically the city is situated by the outlet of the small rivulet Säveån into lake Mjörn. Transportation links are provided by the western main line railway (''Västra stambanan'') between Stockholm and Gothenburg, and by motorway through the European route E20. Next to Alingsås you can also find a small village called Sollebrunn. History Alingsås was founded as inhabitants from the city Nya Lödöse were made homeless as Danish troops burnt it down. Gustavus Adolphus granted Alingsås its Royal Charter in 1619, which makes it older than Västra Götaland's largest city Gothenburg (which was granted its charter in 1621). Wilmer X is a Swedish rock band formed in Malmö in 1977. The group's classic line-up comprised Nisse Hellberg, Clas Rosenberg, Jalle Lorensson and Mats Thorin. Rooted in rock and punk, their sound incorporated elements of pop, country, disco and blues. Sverigetopplistan (, lit. "the Sweden top list") is the Swedish national record chart, formerly known as Topplistan (1975–1997) and Hitlistan (1998–2007) and known by its current name since October 2007, based on sales data from the Swedish Recording Industry Association (in Swedish Grammofonleverantörernas förening). Before Topplistan, music sales in Sweden were recorded by Kvällstoppen, whose weekly chart was a combined albums and singles list. History For the period of 1976 to 2006, the official Swedish music charts were published by Sveriges Radio P3, a station owned by Sveriges Radio. At the end of 2006, it stopped publishing the general charts, which were entrusted to Swedish Recording Industry Association in the beginning of 2007. ''Aftonbladet'' (, lit. "The evening paper") is a Swedish daily newspaper published in Stockholm, Sweden. It is one of the largest daily newspapers in the Nordic countries. History and profile The newspaper was founded by Lars Johan Hierta in December 1830 under the name of ''Aftonbladet i Stockholm'' during the modernization of Sweden. Often critical and oppositional, the paper was repeatedly banned from publishing. However, Hierta circumvented the bans by constantly reviving the paper under slightly modified names, as, legally speaking, a new publication. Thus, on 16 February 1835, he issued the first edition of New Aftonbladet, which would – after yet another ban – be followed by Newer Aftonbladet, in turn followed by Fourth Aftonbladet, Fifth Aftonbladet, and so on. Warner Music Sweden AB (previously Metronome Records) is a Swedish record company and label, a subsidiary of Warner Music Group. Metronome Records was established in 1949 by Anders Burman, Lars Burman, and Börje Ekberg and was based in Stockholm. It concentrated on pop and jazz and had operations in Sweden, Denmark, and Germany. Reeperbahn (band)
The Reeperbahn () is a street and entertainment district in Hamburg's St. Pauli district, one of the two centres of Hamburg's nightlife (the other being Sternschanze) and also the city's major red-light district. In German, it is also nicknamed ''die sündigste Meile'' (the most sinful mile) and ''Kiez''. The Reeperbahn Festival is among the largest club festivals. Name and history The name ''Reeperbahn'' means ropewalk, which is a place where ropes are made ( nds, Reep = rope, the standard German word is ; = track). Until the 1620s Hamburg's ropewalks had been located in the Neustadt (New Town) quarter of the inner city close to the Elbe, which then became a densely built up area. MNW Music AB is a Swedish record company and was founded in 1969 in Vaxholm as Music Network Corps AB by Sverre Sundman, Lorne deWolfe and Lynn deWolfe. It is now located in Stockholm. History After a financial crisis in the spring of 1971, the company was rescued by Tore Berger, from the group Gunder Hägg (later Blå Tåget), investing his own money and the company was transformed into Musiknätet Waxholm. MNW was then one of the most important record companies in the music movement, focusing on Swedish musicians with Swedish texts, and political considerations often governed the publication. Ratata (band)
Ratata was a Swedish pop band formed in Stockholm in 1980. It functioned as a 4-piece band until 1983, when it was restructured. Johan Ekelund, having played with the band briefly, accepted an invitation and continued with Scocco as a duo until 1989. The duo had a brief comeback in 2002. History Scocco formed the pop group Ratata in 1980 along with a number of classmates while he was still in school: Heinz Liljedahl, Anders Skog and Johan Kling. The name was chosen since it alluded to machine gun fire, being Swedish for "rat-tat-tat". The first single was "För varje dag" (''"For each day"'') in 1981 was followed by a second single "Ögon av is". Both appeared on their self-titled 1982 debut album ''Ratata''.
