Olivier De Cock
Olivier De Cock (born 9 November 1975) is a Belgian former professional footballer who played as a right-back. He is manager of the reserve team of R. Knokke FC. Club career De Cock was born in Eeklo. He joined Club Brugge in 1987. In 1995, he was promoted to the first team. De Cock made his debut for the club on 29 November 1996 in a 3–1 league win over Gent. However, it was only after the departure of Eric Deflandre that De Cock got a permanent spot in the starting lineup. When Brian Priske arrived in 2006, he lost his permanent place in the side. In August 2007 he moved to Fortuna Düsseldorf on loan. He then played for Rot-Weiß Oberhausen and Oostende. In the summer of 2010, he joined Roeselare on a one-year contract. After that season, De Cock retired as a professional football player. He then started playing on amateur level for SVV Damme. Eeklo
Eeklo () is a Belgian municipality in the Flemish province of East Flanders. The municipality comprises only the town of Eeklo proper. The name ''Eeklo'' comes from the contraction of "eke" and "lo", two Old German words meaning ''oak'' and ''sparse woods'' (compare English ''Oakley''). History Origins and Middle Ages There are not many traces of early habitation in the Eeklo area. It is presumed that some oaks would have attracted the attention of travellers on the Roman road that ran along the local sandbar among the marshes. By 1240, a town had grown here and had already become important enough to warrant a civic charter by Jeanne of Constantinople, Countess of Flanders. 2003 Belgian Super Cup
The 2003 Belgian Supercup was a football match between the winners of the previous season's Belgian First Division and Belgian Cup competitions. The match was contested by Cup winners La Louvière, and 2002–03 Belgian First Division champions, Club Brugge on 2 August 2003 at the ground of the league champions as usual, in this case the Jan Breydel Stadium. La Louvière took an early lead through Vervalle, with Nastja Čeh providing the equalizer just before the hour mark. Club Brugge eventually won its second consecutive Supercup title and 11th in total, as it beat La Louvière on penalty kicks. The Belgium national football team represents the country of Belgium in international association football. It is fielded by the Royal Belgian Football Association, the governing body of football in Belgium, and competes as a member of the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA), which encompasses the countries of Europe.
