Olivia Higgins
Olivia Higgins (born 15 September 1992) is an Australian professional rugby league footballer who plays as a for the Newcastle Knights in the NRL Women's Premiership. Background Born in Newcastle, New South Wales, Higgins started out playing league tag. She is currently a high school teacher in Newcastle. Playing career Early years In 2019, Higgins played for the Aberglasslyn Ants and represented the Country Rugby League, CRL Newcastle side. In 2020, she joined the Central Coast Roosters in the NSWRL Women's Premiership. 2022 Higgins joined the Sydney Roosters NRL Women's Premiership, NRLW squad in 2022. In round 1 of the delayed 2021 NRL Women's season, she made her NRLW debut for the Roosters against the Brisbane Broncos. 2021 NRL Women's Season
The 2021 NRLW premiership was the fourth professional season of Women's rugby league in Australia. The season was planned to start in August 2021, postponed to October 2021 and further postponed to 2022 due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The competition was held from February to April 2022, with the 2022 NRL Women's season later commencing in August 2022. Newcastle Knights (NRLW) Players
The Newcastle Knights are a team that competes in the National Rugby League (NRL) premiership. Playing in red and blue, the Knights joined the top tier competition in 1988, 79 years after the previous Newcastle based team, the Newcastle Rebels had departed the Sydney competition with the formation of a separate league competition based in the Newcastle region. The Parramatta Eels are an Australian professional rugby league football club based in the Sydney suburb of Parramatta that competes in the National Rugby League. The Parramatta District Rugby League Football Club was formed in 1947, and their home ground was Parramatta Stadium (formerly Cumberland Oval). As of 2019, Parramatta's home ground stadium has been rebuilt and they now play as the co-tenants at Western Sydney Stadium, which sits on the same site that was once Parramatta Stadium. The 2022 NRLW Premiership was the fifth professional season of Women's rugby league in Australia. The season started on Saturday, 20 August and ran for seven weekends.
