Olivette, Missouri
Olivette is an inner-ring suburb of St. Louis, located in St. Louis County, Missouri, United States. The population was 8,504 at the 2020 census. History Olivette was settled in the mid-19th century as a small farming community along an old Indian trail originally called the Bonhomme Road (now known as Old Bonhomme, which meets and essentially turns into Olive Boulevard). Olive Road is a ridge road and at one time served as a de facto boundary for housing segregation in outer St. Louis. The first brick schoolhouse in St. Louis County was built in the 1850s at the corner of Price and Old Bonhomme in Olivette. Logos High School is built on the former grounds of the schoolhouse. In the 1920s, St. Louis decided to build a water reservoir in Olivette since it was one of the highest points in St. Louis County. The reservoir was built at Brock's Pond, a local recreational spot, and finished in 1926. Stacy Park was formed around the reservoir and is now the largest park in Olivette. ...

''Les noces d'Olivette'' is an opéra comique in three acts composed by Edmond Audran, with a libretto by Alfred Duru and Henri Charles Chivot. The farcical romance story concerns Olivette, who loves Valentine (who is also loved by a Countess) but is engaged to a sea captain, who she refuses to marry. Valentine secretly weds Olivette, the captain declares that Olivette is his rightful bride, Valentine is arrested, Olivette is disowned, but eventually her marriage to Valentine is upheld. It premiered in Paris in 1879. English-language adaptations were mounted in 1880 in both London, where it played for 466 performances, and New York. Revivals followed. Olivette (grape)
Poulsard (also Ploussard) is a red French wine grape variety from the Jura wine region. The name Ploussard is used mainly around the town of Pupillin but can appear on wine labels throughout Jura as an authorized synonyms. While technically a dark-skinned ''noir grape'', the skins of Poulsard are very thin with low amounts of color - phenols and produces very pale colored red wines, even with extended maceration and can be used to produce white wines. Because of this, Poulsard is often blended with other red-skin varieties or used to produce lightly colored ''rosé'' wines. Additionally the grape is used to make ''blanc de noir'' white wines and sparkling ''cremants''.J. Olivette Bice
Olivette Bice (née Daruhi born 12 May 1968 in Espiritu Santo) is a Vanuatuan sprinter. Bice was the first ever female competitor at the Summer Olympics for her country when she went to the 1988 Summer Olympics held in Seoul. In the 100 metres she ran 13 seconds and finished 7th out of 8 in her heat so didn't qualify for the next round, she also ran in the 200 metres and finished 5th out of 7 in her heat and again she failed to qualify for the next round. Olivette Miller
Olivette N. Miller (February 2, 1914 – April 27, 2003), later Olivette Miller-Briggs, was an American musician, a swing harpist and singer. Early life Miller was born in Chicago (some sources say New York), the daughter of actor and writer Flournoy Miller and performer Bessie Oliver Miller. Irvin C. Miller and Quintard Miller, both performers and producers, were her uncles. She attended the Ethical Culture Fieldston School, Ethical Culture School in New York, and the East Greenwich Academy in Rhode Island. She pursued further studies at the University of Pennsylvania. She studied harp at Juilliard School, Juilliard and in Paris with Marcel Tournier. Career Miller joined Noble Sissle's orchestra in 1937, and toured with them in Europe with the United Service Organizations, USO during World War II. Olivette Otele FLSW (born 1970) is an historian and distinguished research professor at SOAS in London. She was previously Professor of the History of Slavery at Bristol University. She is Vice-President of the Royal Historical Society, and Chair of Bristol's Race Equality Commission. She is an expert on the links between history, memory, and geopolitics in relation to French and British colonial pasts.
