Oliver Wines
Oliver Wines (born 7 October 1994) is a professional Australian rules footballer playing for the Port Adelaide Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). Wines received a nomination for the 2013 AFL Rising Star award in Round 1 of the 2013 season, his debut match. He served as Port Adelaide co-captain in the 2019 season. Wines' standout 2021 season earned him a Brownlow Medal with a record-tying 36 votes (a record shared with Dustin Martin's 2017 tally). Early life Wines played his junior football at the Echuca Football Club and for the Bendigo Pioneers in the TAC Cup before being drafted by Port Adelaide in the 2012 AFL Draft. Echuca ( ) is a town on the banks of the Murray River and Campaspe River in Victoria, Australia. The border town of Moama is adjacent on the northern side of the Murray River in New South Wales. Echuca is the administrative centre and largest settlement in the Shire of Campaspe. Jack Viney (born 13 April 1994) is a professional Australian rules footballer playing for the Melbourne Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). A midfielder, tall and weighing , Viney is capable of contributing as both an inside and outside midfielder. Andrew Walker (born 18 May 1986) is a former professional Australian rules footballer who played with the Carlton Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). Early life Andrew has Indigenous Australian heritage and his tribal ancestry can be traced to the Yorta Yorta. Rex James Hunt (born 7 March 1949) is an Australian television and radio personality, and a former Australian rules football player. He was also a veteran Australian rules football commentator known for his habit of making up quirky nicknames for players. He has also been known around the world for fishing and wildlife programs on the Seven Network and overseas stations. Clinton Wines
Clinton Wines (2 May 1922 – 23 October 2006) was an Australian rules footballer who played with Carlton in the Victorian Football League (VFL) during the mid-1940s. While at Carlton, Wines played as a centreman and it was in that position that he starred against Herbie Matthews in the 1945 VFL Grand Final win over South Melbourne. Wines, who was originally from South Warrnambool, had served with the 2/23rd Battalion in North Africa before joining Carlton. The next stage of his career was spent in Sydney, where he had gone because his wife was home sick. He was signed up by Eastern Suburbs where he would play often as a forward, topping their goal-kicking twice, including an 81-goal season in 1949. Dustin Martin (born 26 June 1991) is a professional Australian rules footballer playing for the Richmond Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). Martin was drafted by Richmond with the third pick in the 2009 national draft, and made his AFL debut in the opening round of the 2010 season.
