Oliver Milton Lee, commonly known as Oliver Lee (8 November 1865 – 15 December 1941) was a part-time deputy U.S. marshal, rancher, and gunfighter. Lee was born in Buffalo Gap, Texas and died in Alamogordo, New Mexico, where the Oliver Lee Memorial State Park is named for him. Early life Little is known about Lee's life prior to his moving to New Mexico from Texas with his mother. His marksmanship even at an early age is mentioned in ''"The Fabulous Frontier"'' (). Lee worked as a Deputy US Marshal before turning to ranching. He was described in ''"Tularosa: Last of the Frontier West"'' () as "magnificently muscled, straight as a young pine, catlike in his coordination". Oliver Lee (born 14 February 1986) is an English actor. He played the role of Josh Jones in the Channel 4 television drama series '' Hollyoaks: In the City'', during 2006; and Aiden Scotcher in the BBC One school-based drama series '' Waterloo Road'', during 2011. He was born in Greater Manchester, England. He is married to Sophie Rosa Lee, they have 3 children. Oliver Robert Lee (born 11 July 1991) is an English professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for English club Gillingham. Lee started his career as a youth player with West Ham United, with whom he turned professional in 2009. He made his debut in the Football League during the first of two loan spells at Dagenham & Redbridge in 2011, and also played on loan to League Two club Gillingham in 2012. He never made a senior appearance for West Ham, and moved on to Barnet in July 2012. After nine months and thirteen appearances, he signed for Championship club Birmingham City on loan. Despite not having played first-team football for Birmingham, the loan was converted to a permanent transfer in May 2013. He played 20 matches in 2013–14 but none the following season, and after a spell on loan at League Two Plymouth Argyle in 2015, he was released. Snakehips are a British electronic music duo. The line-up consists of Oliver Lee and James Carter. Snakehips made their name with Hype Machine doing remixes for Banks, The Weeknd, Bondax and Wild Belle. They are best known for their 2015 single, " All My Friends". Early life Oliver Lee was educated at the Skinners' School, in Tunbridge Wells. Oliver Lee started out in music at a young age in the late 2000s, playing a variety of instruments, from keyboard to tambourine, for mariachi bands. He paid his dues whilst in the band, with his repertoire consisting of popular covers of hits from the era, a practice typical for the time. History The Ajax 23 is a keelboat designed by Oliver Lee in 1967. It is a 23 ft boat sailed by 3 people. The Ajax 23 is built out of GRP and built by Halmatic. Roughly 60 boats are in existence with 1 in Sydney another in Ireland and the rest split between sailing on the River Orwell at Woolverstone near Ipswich at the Royal Harwich Yacht Club and in St Mawes, Cornwall. National Championships The National Championships for the Ajax Class take place in the summer each year, and are alternately hosted by the Royal Harwich Yacht Club (racing taking place in Dovercourt Bay) and St Mawes Sailing Club (racing taking place in the River Fal estuary). Squib Sailboat
A Squib is a type of small racing keelboat designed in 1967 by Oliver Lee as a successor to the Ajax 23. It is a strict " one-design" class of boat, having a length of 19' (5.79 metres), beam of 6'1½" (1.87 metres), a sail area of 170 sq. ft. (15.8 sq. mts.) upwind, 310 sq. ft. (29 sq. mts.) total and a weight of 1500 lb (680 kg) (including sails and fittings). The usual crew is two people and the boat can be cruised or raced with a Portsmouth Yardstick of 1142. The Squib has been adopted by the RYA as the National Keelboat and is big enough to race at sea and small enough to be trailed easily behind a family car. Early history Oliver Lee built the prototype Squib in 1967, using cold moulded wood. Oliver Lee Memorial State Park
Oliver Lee Memorial State Park is a state park of New Mexico, United States, whose two tracts preserve a canyon in the Sacramento Mountains and Oliver Lee's historic 19th-century ranch house. The park is located in Otero County at an elevation of . It is situated at the base of Dog Canyon and provides opportunities for camping, hiking, picnicking, wildlife viewing, a nature trail, and guided tours of the ranch house. The Dog Canyon National Recreational Trail climbs to provide views of the Tularosa Basin and the Organ Mountains. Nearby are the community of Alamogordo and White Sands National Park.
