Olive Hasbrouck
Olive Hasbrouck (1907–1976) was an American film actress of the silent era. Hasbrouck and her mother moved from Boise to Hollywood, where Hasbrouck attended Hollywood High School. She began working in films as an extra at Universal City. When she was 17, she had the lead female role in ''Ridgeway of Montana''. In January 1929, she signed with First National, with the studio slating her to be the leading lady in ''The Royal Rider''. Hasbrouck retired when sound films were introduced. The Ridin' Rascal
''The Ridin' Rascal'' is a 1926 American silent Western film directed by Clifford Smith based upon the novel ''Mavericks'' by William MacLeod Raine. The film stars Art Acord, Olive Hasbrouck, and Buck Connors. Plot As described in a film magazine, Larrabie Keller comes into cow country as a homesteader and is immediately attacked by the cattlemen who accuse him of being a rustler. The insults of Bill Healy cause Keller to give him a severe drubbing after Keller’s refusal to fight Phil Sanderson, whose sister Phyllis has struck his fancy. Later Phyllis finds Keller beside a branding fire which he is investigating and believes him guilty of rustling. Healy fires and wounds Keller. Phyllis, unknown to Healy, takes Keller to Yeager, another homesteader, who dresses Keller’s wounds. ''The Charge of the Gauchos'' (Argentine title: ''Una nueva y gloriosa nación'') is a 1928 American-Argentine silent historical film directed by Albert H. Kelley and starring Francis X. Bushman, Jacqueline Logan and Guido Trento. Bushman plays Manuel Belgrano, one of the leaders of the 1810 May Revolution. The film's Spanish title refers to a line from the Argentine national anthem. It was made as a patriotic endeavor designed to boost the small Argentine film industry, but with enough action and romance to appeal to international audiences particularly in the UK and the United States.
