Olga Permyakova
Olga Viktorovna Permyakova (born 12 April 1982 in Chelyabinsk, Russian SSR, Soviet Union) is a Russian ice hockey defender. International career Permyakova was selected for the Russia national women's ice hockey team in the 2002, 2006 and 2010 Winter Olympics. In 2002, she recorded one point in five games. In 2006, she played in three games without recording a point. In 2010, she had two assists in four games.. She also played in the qualifying tournament for the 2006 Olympics. Permyakova has also appeared for Russia at seven IIHF Women's World Championships. Her first appearance came in 2004. Defenceman
Defence or defense (in American English) in ice hockey is a player position that is primarily responsible for preventing the opposing team from Goal (ice hockey), scoring. They are often referred to as defencemen, D, D-men or blueliners (the latter a reference to the blue line in ice hockey which represents the boundary of the offensive zone; defencemen generally position themselves along the line to keep the puck in the zone). The men's tournament was introduced at the 1920 Summer Olympics and was transferred permanently to the Winter Olympic Games program in 1924, in France. The 2007 IIHF Women's World Championships were held from April 3 to 10, 2007 in Winnipeg and Selkirk, Manitoba, Canada. There were no championships in 2006 due to the Torino Olympic tournament.
