Olga Dickie
Olga Helen Fowler Dickie (28 August 1900 – 7 March 1992) was a British and later Australian actress best known for her numerous film roles, especially in the horror and suspense genre, and radio announcer. Life and career Dickie was born in British India, to Scottish parents, on 28 August 1900. After living in the UK, and working as a radio announcer, she subsequently appeared in British film productions in cameo type roles from 1949 until 1964 and was best known for her role as ''Gerda'' in the English version of ''Dracula'' starring Sir Christopher Lee in 1958. She emigrated to Australia, where she had roles in TV series and television films from the 1970s onwards, including ''A Country Practice'', ''Return to Eden'' and ''The Flying Doctors'', and in film such as '' Picnic at Hanging Rock'' and a 1987 adaptation of Neville Shute's '' The Far County''. ''Cone of Silence'' (also known as ''Trouble in the Sky'' in the United States) is a 1960 British drama film directed by Charles Frend and starring Michael Craig, Peter Cushing, George Sanders, and Bernard Lee. The film is about the investigation into a series of crashes involving the fictional 'Atlas Aviation Phoenix' jetliner. ''Cone of Silence'' is based upon the novel of that name by David Beaty, which is loosely based on the 1952 crash in Rome and subsequent investigations into the structural integrity of the de Havilland Comet airliner. The title refers to a technical term used in the Low-frequency radio range. An identification of a range's cone of silence is shown early in the film. Plot Four youth Teddy boys are on trial for the murder of a garage night watchman in the course of a burglary on the night of January 15. Witnesses and the accused give differing accounts of the lead-up to the crime, a dispiriting and frustrating evening out in London. Flashbacks of the teenagers' insecure and sometimes alienated lives contrast strongly with the austere legality of the courtroom as, by degrees, the truth emerges.
