Oleksandr Kukurba
Oleksandr Vasyliovich Kukurba (), 18 September 1994 – 26 July 2022) was a Ukrainian military officer, major of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, a participant in the Russo-Ukrainian War. Hero of Ukraine (2022), recipient of the Order of Bohdan Khmelnytsky II and III class. Biography Oleksandr Kukurba was born in 1994 in the village of Verkhnii Verbizh in Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast, Ukraine. Kukurba studied at the Nizhniy Verbizh comprehensive school (p. Nizhniy Verbizh, Kolomyysky district, Ivano-Frankivsk region). He completed his military service as the head of intelligence at the headquarters of the 299th tactical aviation brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. During the repulse of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, he flew 100 sorties, destroyed more than 20 tanks and about 50 combat units of armored vehicles and other means, as well as more than 300 enemy personnel. Dnipro
Dnipro, previously called Dnipropetrovsk from 1926 until May 2016, is Ukraine's fourth-largest city, with about one million inhabitants. It is located in the eastern part of Ukraine, southeast of the Ukrainian capital Kyiv on the Dnieper River, after which its Ukrainian language name (Dnipro) it is named. Derussification In Ukraine
Derussification in Ukraine ( uk, Дерусифікація/деросіянізація в Україні, translit=Derusyfikatsiia/derosiianizatsiia v Ukraïni) is a process of removing Russian influence from the country of Ukraine. Derussification began after the collapse of the USSR and intensified with the demolition of monuments to Lenin during Euromaidan and the further systemic process of decommunization in Ukraine. The Russo-Ukrainian War gave a strong impetus to the process. The process manifests itself in the renaming of toponyms named after Russian statesmen and cultural figures, or those that are believed to reflect Russianism and the Russian worldview, or are otherwise associated with Russia. Sobornyi District, Dnipro
Sobornyi District () is an urban district of the city of Dnipro, in southern Ukraine. It is located in the city's center on the right-bank of the Dnieper River. History According to archeological finds, in the Paleolithic period (7—3 thousand ''Anno Domini'') human settlements appear on Monastyrskyi Island; which is located in Sobornyi District. Traces of Cimmerian settlements during the Bronze Age have been found near today's Sobornyi District's . The current district Sobornyi District was created on 16 March 1936 out of the Kirovskyi and Fabrychno-Chechelivskyi districts. In 1973, a portion of its territory was annexed to the newly created Babushkinskyi District.
