Ole Edvard Buck
Ole Edvard Buck (14 November 1799 – 13 June 1843) was a Norwegian politician. He was appointed County Governor of ''Finmarkens Amt'' (today's Troms and Finnmark) in 1833. In 1838 he was elected to the Norwegian Parliament in 1838, representing his county. Troms
Troms (; se, Romsa; fkv, Tromssa; fi, Tromssa) is a former county in northern Norway. On 1 January 2020 it was merged with the neighboring Finnmark county to create the new Troms og Finnmark county. This merger is expected to be reversed by the government resulting from the 2021 Norwegian parliamentary election. It bordered Finnmark county to the northeast and Nordland county in the southwest. Norrbotten Län in Sweden is located to the south and further southeast is a shorter border with Lapland Province in Finland. To the west is the Norwegian Sea (Atlantic Ocean). The entire county, which was established in 1866, was located north of the Arctic Circle. The Troms County Municipality was the governing body for the county, elected by the people of Troms, while the Troms county governor was a representative of the King and Government of Norway. Finnmark
Finnmark (; se, Finnmárku ; fkv, Finmarku; fi, Ruija ; russian: Финнмарк) was a county in the northern part of Norway, and it is scheduled to become a county again in 2024. On 1 January 2020, Finnmark was merged with the neighbouring county of Troms to form the new Troms og Finnmark county. On 1 January 2024, the county will be demerged back to the counties Finnmark and Troms, after a decision made by parliament on 15 June 2022. By land, it bordered Troms county to the west, Finland ( Lapland region) to the south, and Russia (Murmansk Oblast) to the east, and by water, the Norwegian Sea (Atlantic Ocean) to the northwest, and the Barents Sea (Arctic Ocean) to the north and northeast. The Storting ( no, Stortinget ) (lit. the Great Thing) is the supreme legislature of Norway, established in 1814 by the Constitution of Norway. It is located in Oslo. The unicameral parliament has 169 members and is elected every four years based on party-list proportional representation in nineteen multi-seat constituencies. A member of Stortinget is known in Norwegian as a ''stortingsrepresentant'', literally "Storting representative". Mons Lie
Mons Lie (15 February 1757 – 2 August 1827) was a Norwegian police chief and writer. He was born in Ålen as a son of Jonas Monsen Storli (1715–1791) and Karen Svendsdotter Aspaas (born 1717). His mother was a first cousin of Svend Aspaas. In February 1777 he married Dorothea Wollan, but the marriage did not last. From October 1793 he was married to Elisabeth Sofie Müller (1772–1810). After her death he married Anna Margrethe Hagerup (1768–1840), a daughter of Christian Frederik Hagerup, in March 1811. Mons Lie was the ancestor of several notable people. His grandson Mons Lie (1803–1881) married a sister of Erik Røring Møinichen and had the daughters Erika (Nissen), Ida and Thomasine Lie. Another grandson Michael Strøm Lie (1807–1852) was the father of well-known writer Jonas Lie, who also married Thomasine Lie. Finnmark County Municipality
Finnmark County Municipality ( no, Finnmark fylkeskommune, sme, Finnmárkku fylkkagielda) was the regional governing administration for the old Finnmark county in Norway. It was dissolved on 31 December 2019 when Finnmark county was merged into Troms og Finnmark county starting on 1 January 2020. The administration was located in the town of Vadsø and was led by a county council. The last mayor of the county was Runar Sjåstad from 2007 until 2019. Since 1975, the county council of Finnmark was a democratically elected body with a wide range of responsibilities for the whole county. These responsibilities included economic and social development, construction and maintenance of county roads, upper secondary education, dental services, and cultural services.
