Old Love (story)
"Old Love" is a short story written by English author Jeffrey Archer. Published in 1980 in Archer's '' A Quiver Full of Arrows'' by Hodder & Stoughton, it is the tale of two undergraduates at Oxford in the 1930s and their bitter rivalry that ends in a tragic love story. In 1985, a TV movie titled ''Love Song'' directed by Richard Bennett was based on the story. In 1987, a play titled ''Love Song'' was produced by Richard Bennett based on the story. Plot The story follows two students, William Thatcher and Philippa Jameson, of English literature from Oxford in the 1930s. They both fell in enmity with each other in their first sight. The mutual hatred began a fierce sense of competition between them which enabled them to outshine their contemporaries, but to remain neck-to-neck with each other. Isaac Bashevis Singer ( yi, יצחק באַשעװיס זינגער; November 11, 1903 – July 24, 1991) was a Polish-born American Jewish writer who wrote and published first in Yiddish and later translated himself into English with the help of editors and collaborators. He was awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1978. ''An Old Love'' (german: Eine alte Liebe) is an East German black-and-white film, directed by Frank Beyer. It was released in 1959. Plot Frieda Walkowiak is an ambitious director of a collective farm. Although she is talented and hard-working, the men in the commune are reluctant to accept her as their supervisor. August, Frieda's husband, is exasperated by his wife's devotion to her office, which leads to her being absent from home quite often. After she misses their wedding's anniversary, August is enraged, and leaves their house with their daughter. Frieda is badly depressed and suffers a breakdown. She is taken to a hospital. The Intruders are an American soul music group most popular in the 1960s and 1970s. As one of the first groups to have hit songs under the direction of Kenny Gamble and Leon Huff, they were a major influence on the development of Philadelphia soul. Joe Hertler & The Rainbow Seekers is an American rock band from Michigan, led by musician, songwriter, and producer, Joe Hertler. He primarily composes his songs on acoustic guitar. History Joe Hertler recorded his first album "The Hard Times LP" in 2009 as a Sophomore at Central Michigan University, in his dorm room. He started performing music publicly at Kaya Coffee House in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan to impress a girl who hosted an open-mic night. Michele Brourman (born April 12, 1947) is an American composer and songwriter who is known for writing the songs to most of the films in '' Land Before Time'' series (with Amanda McBroom), as well as the accompanying television series (with Ford Riley). Brourman has also written the songs for sequels '' Balto II: Wolf Quest'' and '' Balto III: Wings of Change'' and one song for the family film '' Shiloh''.
