"Old Hippie" is a song written by David Bellamy, and recorded by American country music duo The Bellamy Brothers. It was released in April 1985 as the first single from their album '' Howard & David''. The song reached No. 2 on the ''Billboard'' Hot Country Singles chart in July 1985 and No. 1 on the ''RPM'' Country Tracks chart in Canada. In June 2014, ''Rolling Stone'' magazine ranked "Old Hippie" 95th in their list of the 100 greatest country songs. The Bellamy Brothers are an American pop and country music duo consisting of brothers David Milton Bellamy (born September 16, 1950) and Homer Howard Bellamy (born February 2, 1946), from Dade City, Florida.
