Old-Reformed Congregations (unconnected)
The Old-Reformed Congregations (unconnected) was founded by Rev. Van der Meer, who separated from the Old-Reformed Congregations in the Netherlands in 2007. In October 2007 Rev. Van der Meer and some members in the congregation in Sint Philipsland separated from the Old-Reformed Congregations, and later the denomination suspended him and cancelled his membership. After the termination of his membership he founded the new denomination. Later in 2008 the Bolnes Old-Reformed Church and later the congregation in Ridderkerk joined the new denomination. Today three congregations belong to the denomination. It has formed official links with the Reformed Congregations in the Netherlands (unconnected). Old-Reformed Congregations In The Netherlands
The Old-Reformed Congregations in the Netherlands (Dutch language, Dutch: ''Oud Gereformeerde Gemeenten in Nederland'') is a pietistic Reformed church, Reformed denomination in the Netherlands. Characteristics The characteristics of the denomination is the loose structure compared to other churches, and less dogmatic rigidity. In the recent years the denomination has worked closely with the Free Presbyterian Church of Scotland. Statistics The :nl:Oud-Gereformeerde Gemeenten in Nederland#Organisatie, federation has 62 congregations and three departments in the Netherlands and one congregation located in Salford, Ontario, Salford, Canada. Membership is approximately 18,000 baptized members. The largest congregations are in Urk, Barneveld (municipality), Barneveld, Geldermalsen, Kinderdijk, Krimpen aan den IJssel, Rijssen, Stavenisse. Sint Philipsland (village)
Sint Philipsland is a village in the Dutch province of Zeeland. Sint Philpsland is also the name of the (former) island on which the village lies. It is a part of the municipality of Tholen, and lies about 16 km northwest of Bergen op Zoom. History The village was first mentioned between 1490 and 1495 as "Ecclesia sti Philippi Apostoli, St. Philipskerc", and is named after Philip the Apostle. The area was ''diked'' in 1487 by order of Anna van Bourgondië, the illegitimate daughter of Philip the Good. The first village was flooded in 1509 and 1530, and subsequently abandoned. In 1642, the land was reclaimed again and a regular patterned village with front and back street was constructed. The Dutch Reformed church was built in 1668 in a neoclassic style with Doric columns. In 1953, an association building was attached to the western side of the church. Sint Philipsland was home to 654 people in 1840. Ridderkerk () is a town and municipality in the western Netherlands, in the province of South Holland. The municipality had a population of in and covers an area of of which is covered by water. The municipality of Ridderkerk also includes the following towns, villages and townships: Bolnes, Oostendam, Rijsoord and Slikkerveer. Dinteloord
Dinteloord is a village in the Dutch province of North Brabant. Dinteloord is known for its sugar factory, and the Muza festivals that have been held for over 50 years. History The village was first mentioned in 1604 as "le village de Dindeloort", and means land near the Dintel river. The village was founded after the Prinsenland ''polder'' was established. The Dutch Reformed church was built in 1693 as a square building with an octagon domed tower. After 1944, only the walls remained, however it has been restored after the war. The town hall is a square building in neoclassic style which was constructed in 1830 by modified the existing building. After being damaged in 1944, it was restored between 1948 and 1949. Dinteloord was home to 1,073 people in 1840. The sugar factory of Suiker Unie (nowadays: Cosun Beet Company) was established in 1908, and is the largest sugar factory of Europe. Veenendaal () is a municipality and a town in central Netherlands, located in the province of Utrecht. Veenendaal is the only population centre within its administrative borders. The municipality had a population of 67.601 inhabitants on 1 january 2022 and covers an area of . History The original village was founded in the middle of the 16th century as a peat colony from which it got its name. ''Veen'' is the Dutch word for fen and ''daal'' for dale. The village was administratively part of two nearby towns, which were themselves part of two different provinces of the Dutch Republic.
