Olcay Çakır
Olcay Çakır Turgut (born 13 July 1993) is a Turkish basketball player for Fenerbahçe where she played for since 2005 in youth level. Çakır was selected 27th overall in the 2013 WNBA Draft's Round 3 by the New York Liberty. She is so the first ever woman basketball player from Turkey to be drafted by the WNBA. The only Turkish basketball player who played in the WNBA is Nevriye Yılmaz. Women's Basketball Super League
The Women's Basketball Super League ( tr, Kadınlar Basketbol Süper Ligi, KBSL), also known as the Herbalife Nutrition Women's Basketball Super League for sponsorship reasons, is the top women's professional basketball division of the Turkish women's basketball league system. The league was established in 1980 and is organized by the Turkish Basketball Federation. There is also a Turkish Women’s Basketball League (TKBL), the second level in the Turkish women's basketball league system. Fenerbahçe are the most successful team in competition history, having won 16 championship titles to date. Competition system The competition is played in two phases: regular season and playoffs. The Turkish Women's Basketball Presidential Cup (Turkish: ''Kadınlar Cumhurbaşkanlığı Kupası''), or Turkish Women's Basketball Super Cup, is the professional basketball women's club super cup competition that takes place each year in Turkey. Nevriye Yılmaz (; born 16 June 1980) is a Turkish retired basketball player. Yılmaz, who grew up in Bulgaria in a Turkish family, moved to İstanbul, Turkey with her parents when she was nine years old. In 1997, she won the World High School Basketball Championship with Boğaziçi Lisesi. Career in Europe She began her basketball career with I.U.S.B.K. (1997–99) and then she played Galatasaray (1999-01) where she won her first Turkish Championship in Turkey. She moved first to the Greek team Apollon Ptolemaida (2001–02) then later to the Bulgarian team Academic Plovdiv (2002).
